Is Tamriel Unlimited worth buying?

I am trying the game during the free weekend. I would like to purchase it now that it is only $9.96 for the Tamriel Unlimited edition. I want to know if this edition is good? Will it keep me entertained for a good long while or should I just plan on buying the Gold Edition later, as I don't want to spend the extra cash here around Christmas? Also, are the servers still well populated?

I'm pretty sure there's a 5500 Crown ($40) bundle on the Crown Store that comes with all DLC. On sale this pack would be around $25.

It's definitely worth playing ESO, but I'm not totally sure on which route is best for you.

If the Gold Edition is $60, then it may be a bit cheaper to buy the base game for $10 and then by the $40 bundle.

Yes very well populated and entertaining game that will get you addicted for at least 6 months.
After max level there'll be nothing worth doing and repetitive.

It's well populated to the point the game lags, freezes and crashes as often as every 15min for me.
The technical problems of this game drives me away to play other games.
    So try it yourself first.

Its a blast and get it. I am on the NA Server for PS4 and it doesn't crash every 15 min. EVER!!!

Now during PvP yes, lag, even some larger populated areas, maybe a second or two of lag. But please do not believe every 15 min there are crashes.

Playing through and finding everything via quests, dungeons and such will take you a while and the game is a blast. The one DLC I would get is Wrothgar. Well worth it.

On PS4 original it doesn't crashes you every 15min, but maybe crashes every 2 hours.
I'm now on PS4 pro, and it does crashes me every 15min for no reason, the game developers doesn't even care to fix or respond, so I doesn't even want to play the rubbish game tbh.

Here's the error msg of the crash:

Literally most of us paid around $60 for it, and we're still here. So yeah, I'd say ten bucks just to get your feet wet is well worth it. There is a ton of stuff to do without owning the extra DLCS

I'd say just buy the whole thing with all DLC's included. I played Guild Wars 1 & 2 from 2007-2014. In 2015 i started playing ESO on console and i fell in love simply because ESO is like Guild Wars but with an Elder Scrolls skin. It's really like GW but with a more realistic style to it. It's a beautiful game. Soundtrack by an incredible artist named Jeremy Soule who also did the soundtrack for Guild Wars and Harry Potter.

The lore is just endless in this game and there is soo much to do. The community may be a bit toxic in PvP. But the PvE in this game is simply amazing. And tbh, between Guild Wars and ESO, there is NO mmo out there that can beat the two when it comes to graphics, gameplay and how well designed the games are.

A game like this? I'd say throw the $10 away and get it. You're literally getting so much content for so cheap, not to mention a PC version won't cost you extra just to play online. (I was stupid and got it on console, so now I have to spend an extra $60 every year for Xbox Live Gold...)

If you're on PC, I would go for the Steam Gold edition. $30 for everything. It's a great deal. I bought it myself just for the DLC and the new auto-login feature.

If you are in North America, the Gold Edition will be $25 at Best Buy for Black Friday...and yes, I'm late to the party, and am bummed I didn't jump in until just a few weeks ago. I'm hooked! So much to do, so much freedom to do what you want and how you want. You will enjoy it, and I'd say hold off after the free weekend then buy the Gold Edition for $15 more.

There can be some in game frustration and you may see a bit of complaining and rage quits here on the forums. But there is a lot of content in the base game and it's well worth the full retail cost. When on sale it is a steal. If you are liking the game even a little pick it up, it's not much money considering the amount of entertainment you will get from it.

While it's on sale, personally I would recommend picking up the Gold version for access to Wrothgar, Dark Brotherhood, Thieve's Guild, and Imperial City without having to later buy the DLCs for them.

    For the price its great.

It does have some ups and downs, sometimes it gets you super investing other times it can be repedative and frustrating, but I am not sure that is any different to any other game.

Its not the same as other eldar scrolls games so it takes some getting used to.

If you are on a budget and can only get that one, yes it's worth it. The base game has a lot of content with all 3 alliances and Cyrodiil.

I already done ALL the trials, and PVP in all sorts of places, cyrodiil was fun only for the first 100 hours, after that the strategy all the same, nothing new, what's there to do? Repetitive boring stuffs.

Once you've logged in for the first time, from then on the Steam version automatically takes you to the character select screen at startup (similar to how login on the consoles already work). No more having to login manually. Combine that with changing the SkipPregameVideos value to "1" in your UserSettings.txt file (in the Elder Scrolls directory), and you've got a killer combo for a quick and easy game boot.
