1200 crowns for broken garbage?! Thief Personality Rant

wachtung

Do not get me wrong, I love thieving in ESO and elsewhere, that's why I (regretably) bought the Thief personality, but....

Seriously?

1200 crowns for a personality which does not really seem to affect any emote commands and makes the crouched animation, which I thought this thing would be all about, look completely ***?
The commander one is for 700 and does more. The emotional personalities were three, did about as much but costed less, too. Right now I really feel ripped off and regret ever buying this, since there is no way to refund this garbage.

Honestly, I anticipated the release of this for a few months now, and all I got was massive disappointment.
The only nice thing about this is the stance when standing still, and that's really about it. The rest looks absolutelly awful and as much as I was looking forward to it, unfortunately the default animation seems better once again, as apparently not only the crouched animation looks terrible, it also makes you stand up when you stop. Every. Damn. Time. That pretty much ruins the immersion for me completely. I do not know what made Zenimax do this, perhaps they just used the running animation because they were too lazy to make unique one for crouch.

e00da935edeb46fafd9891f691f5ae77.gif

If there is a way to refund it, someone please tell me how. Until they fix it or make it somehow more appealing, I guess I only wasted 1200 crowns on this.

I was all for the personality thing before they introduced it but I only want either "male" or "female" personality.

I don't like any of the personalities they added to the game so far. So best tip is to stay clear IMO.

I really like the Commander and the Heroic personalities. Also, the 3 "moods" are nice.

Not a big fan of the drunk personality, it is too much. And both Assassin and Thief personality are too obvious for a stealthy kind of character.
At least the Thief personality doesn't have a prop your character keep fiddling with.

But yes, I think the price tag is a bit too high on this one. Like 500 Crowns too much.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I love the happy one because it makes my giant, thick Nord lady look amazingly derpy.

    Rngesusbeamer_fox.jpg

(I don't know how or why a fox is on that tent)

The forced-standing thing the Thief personality does seems like it'd interfere in combat. I know the derpy personality makes my poor templar fly standing rigidly standing straight up with her hands on her hips when using focused charge which, again, amuses me to no end but can interfere with the next combat animation.

The Assassin Personality was a loyalty reward for the DB DLC. TG got a pet as loyalty reward, the Jackal.

I was at least hoping for a non-moving crouch animation that was a bit different. I don't hate it, but it's just not worth 1,200 crowns. The Crown Store should give a description whether personalities have emotes and let you preview run/walk/idle cycles.

It has already a description regarding the emotes. They appear in blue under the personality's description if it alters any emote.

But yeah, we should be able to preview run/walk/idle cycles.

For nearly twice the price of the Commander Personality I am REALLY unimpressed. It looks awful all around and I decided not to buy it based on the limited preview alone which didn't even show how bad it is for walk and run animations so thank you OP for showing this thing for what it is. ALL of the various personalities are "over the top" and exaggerated. The one I still find most disappointing is Melancholy... which should be more properly named: Sobbing & Suicidal. Melancholy is a pensive mood. Your character should look somber... not be weeping like a little... you know.

I was excited for the Thief Personality. Let down again.

I find that these stand-alone animated personalities to be too expensive. The Thieves one should be retroactive to TG DLC. These things are cheap addons, when they overlap other content, like a DLC.

That they don't look good or work well, that is just the New ZOS, I guess.

Definitely not worth 1,200 crowns for something that only alters your movement and adds no extra animations in my opinion. The Commander personality cost less and did more lol.

I bought it with suspicion since, even for the personality 'standard', the crown store gave surprisingly little intel about what the thief personality actually does add or change. After equipping it there was a downright depressing sense of disappointment. A refund option would be appreciated, but moreso would be crown store items that are actually worth purchasing.
