Can a new character complete dark brotherhood?

Hi all, new player. I was wondering if I can start and even finish dark brotherhood right away as a new player/character because I really want the robe and armor costumes to wear while I finish leveling up. Just wondering if it is possible.

Thanks.

Yes you can. There are no more level restrictions in the game so you can do whatever content you want whenever you want.

Yes, but there are a few things to consider.

To level between steps of the main quest, you need to do repeatable quest for a most interesting Dunmer. You won't have many wayshrines unlocked, so it might take a bit for you to get to the place you need to be to complete some of these quests (but you can travel to any map by speaking to a npc in major cities. Look for npcs that are near boats or carts in major cities).

Your character doesn't have a lot of skills yet, and the last fight can be a little challenging on that case.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Yes the black hand robe is easily one of my favorite costumes. It pairs really well with the owl mask from the CS imo.

Exactly. I plan to main a magicka Templar healer and no self respecting priest would be caught dead without his black robe

I plan to do DB quests on a nightblade though since my priest will not exactly want to be a murderer as such.

I wish you luck on your adventure. The Dark Brotherhood has a very fun story.

I actually think the game is a lot easier now for a low level character than it was if you kinda rushed through content before the update. Unless i had food, I used to always dread a certain level 15 quest found within the main quest. The one you have to enter a very small ruin to find the hologram of the second companion you pick up. A very small area for someone who used to pack a punch when your toon had nothing more than a wet paper bag for armour. When i did that same quest on a lvl 10 character after 1T, it was ridiculously easy. Even the bosses in Wrothgar are no more difficult if you enter the fray at lvl 15 opposed to say, cp 100ish.

Maybe i'm just imagining this too, but I'm positive my level 15 character does more damage to bosses than my cp 315 does using the same skill set.

I would strongly yrge waiting until 15.

Go now at 3 to start and get blade of woe, but wait to 15 to go further.

Reason is scaling doesn't help you handle mobs of -3 or multiple threats like cc and dot and aoes etc. Early on healing is tough or impossible.

That's a reason you see a LOT more one wolf, one bandit, one imp encounters in zones like strop mkai or auridon than in wrothgar or reapers. It's why the lone auridon wolf doesn't do knockdown or run thru like later beasts do.

Get a basic staple of options, a small assortment of skills and a second bar before going to the dlc content imo.

Also, if it matters, imx you level slower in the dlc.

See the starter islands and first zones have lotsa quick end quests. They were it seems designed to complete short quests go reload spend skills go back out with rapid turnover for low end chars.

The dlc were buit with let's face it more end level play as such longer quests were grwat. Keep more playtime to complete but slower completion.

I took a lower level char after 1T to run db and tg first, thinking could run the main zones after cp160 getting drops from the new stuff. Wasn't too long before I realized leveling was slow.

Went instead to run starter islands -all of them - leveled much quicker.

My advice having tried it is
Run db first mission to get blade of woes.
    Run 5 starter islands
Run first one or two mages, fighters, main q.uests
then whatever you need to get to 15. I would suggest third in the main line

Then go to db or whatever you want.

It's the road map I will follow with my last two developing chars.

I tried with a new night blade character (who I decided was going to be a cold blooded killer.. the kind the Dark Brotherhood apparently gets in contact with). Nothing seem to be a problem until the Grand Sermonizer. She completely deleting that guy from existence. But the first part, no problem. The mission to kill some random person in some far off place. No problem But that Sermonizer... may Oblivion swallow her and rip her flesh from her bones for eternity!

I guess I will level my NB first (to at least 15+) then my Templar and let the NB give him the robe costume.

    Thanks all!
