Crown Store Discounts are up, but ...

Am I the only one thinking that the pricing is a tad bit unfair?

On one hand we have the completely new player who's getting not only a free week of gameplay, but can also buy the whole game plus 4 DLCs as well for 25 euros.
On the other hand, we got someone who's with ESO from day one, has payed something among 50 euros back then, supposedly spent some money on the crown store too in various things, but no DLCs. If he wants to get the 4 DLC Pack without Orsinium, he has to pay 21 euros.

I do not think this is a well thought pricing and it certainly doesn't reward the guy who supported the game for these years.

The guy who supported the game for these years had a whole week to buy Orsinium for dirt cheap. The guy who supported the game would have had to actually buy something from the crown store to support the game besides buying the base game once. The guy who supported the game could have bought Orsinium to support the game.

I fail to see the problem, sorry. =/

I am content. I paid to be able to play for almost three years more than they did.

This is a business and businesses have sales (and this includes DLC content).

/shrug, looks normal for it even if it shafts players that paid full price.

Not sure how it's a bad thing. Yes, you paid earlier (Physical CE owner speaking here), but you've also been able to play the game for YEARS as a result. Others have waited a lot longer, maybe because the game wasn't to their liking before the One Tamriel update, and now they get another chance to join in as well. Games get cheaper over time, as they should, and it still benefits you and I because it adds to the playerbase.

That means more people in game, and most importantly more revenue for ZOS so they can keep churning out gambling packs expansion packs on a regular basis. Vvardenfell will be out soon and we'll all be back to paying the same amount as everyone else for new content. It definitely makes sense to drop the price on older content to hook new players though.

It's not supposed to reward us (whatever that means), it's supposed to keep the game alive by lowering the barrier of entry for new players. We all benefit from it. Or would you prefer to play ESO with the same, slowly dwindling population while potential players pass it by and go to other games that don't cost $150 to get into?

This is probably one of the best points I have seen made regarding this.

I would also like to add that businesses have the right to make money. Gamers seem to think that game studios and distributors should only be breaking even on everything and only earning just enough to keep gamers happy. Course, there are good and bad ways to go about it. But I feel that everything ZOS has done so far is well within the realms of what is considered acceptable business practices.

If someone can't handle the possibility that something they purchased might be discounted later on, then they should be part of the group that waits until that discount hits before purchasing it. There is a 99% guarantee that anything you purchase will eventually be cheaper than what you paid for it.
