I use this in order to have the steam overlay active and use the steam controller.
It works even for the steam link.
The only issue that i have is that steam use the american keyboard settings by default, and if you are from europe you need to change it or your password wont be correct.

Using Steam Link and the Steam Controller with my original PC account is the end goal here so this is good news.

Remember that it will be only an external link so in order to update the client you still need to open the original one not the one Inside steam, also all the steam features such as crown purcase or automatic download will be off.
