They're just a vanity thing and a way for ZoS to make money. All they really do is cause lag in trials so I haven't used my pet in months now.
Now for a bigger questions, what's the point in sorc pets? Such a waste of a skill tree
Would you want them to implement some real pros to having a pet? If so, what comes to mind. Personally, I really like WoW's Pokemon-esque pet collecting and battling system. Of course there's no way they could do something like this at the time with the selection of pets so limited. That's not the only idea I'm sure but I would just like pets to be something other than to show people how many crowns you have.

I'm no tree hugger or anything, but the idea of pet battles is disgusting, even in an imaginary environment. Ok maybe the dwemer "pets" are ok, but the idea of a puppy being forced to fight against a kitty cat is just wrong.
Another thing I really hate about the WOW system is you can't ignore it. You got these stupid green paw prints everywhere.

Plus I like watching him run through the snow or sand, kicking it everywhere. Puts a smile on my face, so that's worth it to me.
WTF are you saying, there is no way to bring pets into Cyrodiil.

1. Pets auto-loot for you after a fight.
2. Pets farm crafting nodes that you pass on your travels, or catch bugs, butterflies, etc.
3. Pets that go and search guild trader kiosks in locations you know for a specific item (search parameter).
4. Collect and/or hand in daily quests for you while you get on with something else.
My Argonian loves his freckled Guar. Doesn't need to do anything, he is fine as just a companion.
Pets ain't slaves. I do not expect my pets to do anything more that they do now. I don't wish them to loot enemies, carry stuff, provide bonuses. That way they cease to be pets and become something else. IRL, I expect my cats to be, well, cats. I don't need them to iron my clothes, get out the trash, teach my children to worship satan etc.
I simply love my black stripped senche for what it is.
