From a Plus Subscriber: Just give everybody the crafting bag!

Now - I love the crafting bag addition in the recent update - I also like that ZOS tried to give Plus subscribers some extra bang for their buck - unfortunately in this case I still think it works against the game's players, both Plus and Non-Plus.

The issue is one that has persisted for a long time - and that is people who hit up crafting nodes and take ONLY 1 item, and leave the others - thereby preventing the node from respawning.

There is only one reason people actually do this - limited inventory space. You don't see as many Plus users doing this, for the obvious reason that they can turn Auto-Loot on, and they don't have to worry about crafting mats bogging up their inventory. The issue is a lot less common now - but clearly it still happens - my time in Wrothgar has been showing me as much.

For non-plus players, they have to worry alot about inventory management - especially with the massive number of different mats out there. I'm pretty sure without the crafting bag I would lose all 200 inventory spaces to Food alone. It is ridiculous - with so many different mats in the game, the Crafting Bag should be for everybody or for nobody.

Quite frankly - as somebody who enjoys the benefits added by the bag - I'm still just as subject as anybody else to the problem that it was meant to help alleviate.

There is no reason for the Crafting bag to be plus only - all you do is encourage people to be picky about resourced and it holds everybody back. They aren't going to buy plus for just the crafting bag - they're going to take the goods from the nodes and do as they've always done. I'm sick of going to pick up clothing material only to find crawlers. I know I don't contribute to this issue because I have auto-loot and unlimited inventory space. If I get worms I don't want - I can sell them, it doesn't hurt me to hold them.

Please ZOS look into just making the Crafting Bag for everybody - but so the Plus users don't get their knickers in a twist, give us a different feature of some sort. This is an issue people have been complaining about since the game came out - and you have the perfect solution but you decide to lock it to paying players only - thereby hurting the people who DO pay.

First - the "node doesn't respawn" is a myth, disproven by many very patient players (do a forum search for details).

Second - "no reason for Crafting bag to be plus only" - clearly it's intended to encourage subs. It seems to be working.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I think the bag should be sold and not only via a subscription.

ZOS says things and then the go against what they've said. supposedly all base game updates were available to all and then subscription and crown store benefits or items would be something someone could obtain in the game in its likeness.

So in context to this, the crafting bag should either or both exist by means of gold or crown purchase for base and X amount of slots.

    Here's the problem.

ZOS introduced it wrong so now they'd have to enable a check box beside what is craft bag loot and what is not if someone didn't have a sub active.

What I mean is if someone were to buy 20, 30, 50, 100, etc. crafting bag slots or upgrades, the items in the bag would need to have a way to say what goes in the bag and what doesn't (in addition to all or nothing settings that exist today)

What if they gave a more limited version of the crafting bag to non-sub players, such as a bag that only holds 10 different materials? Would you be more open to that?

I don't even find the bag all that valuable as a crafter. It would take me a week and 118 inventory slots just to plow through 59,000 bananas. And don't be like, you can't have 59,000 bananas. I am Monkey Murderer Supreme. I can have all the bananas.

Sell them in the crown store individually, you a blacksmith buy the blacksmith bag and etc etc, you play with no sub you get nothing for no sub, this game has been very generous compared to other games with what it includes in the base game that everyone gets for free.

Something on the lines of 1k crowns/10 crafting bag space, with a maximum of 100 slots would be good for all, imo.

    Just freaking sub already.

Second thought. Something I suggested before the bags came out. Make non-subscribers rent bag space. $15 for max (same as subscribers), $10 for say 1000 items. $5 for 300. Lasts 30 days.

Still encourages subs but gives non-subbers the ability to pay only as they need the space. Same rules as the current bags; if you don't pay you don't lose any items, you just can't add more to the bag.

You know, I don't think the people who take only the mats from a node are having inventory space issues.

I think they take what they consider valuable, the crafting mats, and can't be bothered to take the worms and crawlers.

Apparently they have no idea that people will pay for bait for fishing. Now with the new ambrosia recipe thing going on, more people are more willing than ever to pay for bait.

Where is your evidence for either point?

I'm not averse to an additional inventory space allocation for non-subscribers, and imagine that it will come with housing - although I'm also not averse to a lesser form of bag being made available separately e.g. in the Crown Store. However, the crafting bag was and remains an incentive for subscribers and to remove that incentive now would not only be wrong in principle but would also in practice lead to claims for subscription refunds as players would claim that they were misled into subscribing under false pretences.

Yo, cooking mats are insane. Me bank is filled to the brim just for blacksmithing and tailoring. Cooking is nigh impossible.

Make it like what we already got with bags; subscribers get all the goodies right away, whereas the people who paid for the game use some in-game gold to purchase the same. Hell, don't even make it an unlimited amount of crafting bag space; give us non-subscribers a hundred slots, or something lesser like that.

The crafting bag exclusive to ESO+ was and is still a good idea. Zos didn't try to give ESO+ subs some extra bang for their buck, they succeeded and theee is little that could replace it and be as good.

Additionally, while your probably right that some players leave the worms or bug behind because they only want one thing and they have limited space, I doubt that's the only reason. Many just don't want the bug parts or worms. They just take what they want.

Reasoning is those serious about harvesting matts know they need to take it all or it will not respawn. it also takes longer to be selective.

Basically, I don't see the OP suggestion having much impact and o don't think it's worth gambling it would have a modest impact.

You realise that a majority of the stuff in our crafting bags are useless, right? So if they added a non-unlimited one I'd probably unsubscribe and just buy that.
Giving the crafting bag to non-subs is the stupidest thing they could do, because it's one of the reasons many of us are still subscribed.

Well there is a poll where a few hundred voted and some of the polled question agree with the idea that many are subbing only for the crafting bag or only for what inventory the crafting bag frees up.

We need better inventory management, we do not all need the crafting bag.

I know several people who will never unsub(at least while they still play) only because of the crafting bag. I highly doubt ZOS will ever be willing to lose that kind of control over people. And for anyone above cap with full traits on their crafter the only reason other than crafting bags to sub would be loyalty.

I would love a smaller version of the crafting bag to be sold in crown store, maybe something that only holds 1 stack of each item... Or like the 10 item suggest, but with ability to hold 4.2 billion of those 10 items like the normal crafting bag can. But, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm just hoping that housing brings that inventory management that is needed. Even if it's a third form of inventory that can only be accessed when you are at your home, unlike bank and crafting bag access. I will be highly disappointed if housing offers zero storage.

The number one reason is the people who leave stuff behind are tools. Not because they care about their bag space. Everything in a Crafting Node sells, including Bait, and some bait goes for decent prices. There is no reason to leave stuff behind due to limited bag space.

A farmer can farm all the mats that sell and still not use up all 200 bags of inventory space unless they never sell anything.

    Interesting perspective.

Every time you come across an enchanting node with no aspect, it's because I took the Kuta and left the rest.

Just kidding. But seriously it did not occur to me that people with crafting bags might feel this way. We did all manage to get by somehow before they existed you know.
