You should check their profiles and see if they only played ESO, and note the ones that are not.

I found out many of the big guild traders that get the best traders been using these farmers.

That dolem outside Vulkhel Guard [Auridon] has bots regularly on the PS4. I always assumed it was people putting elastic bands on the controllers. I remember doing that *** in Oblivion to level up my sneak.

I've said this several times, but I'll say it again:

I reported this to @ZOS_GinaBruno and @ZOS_JessicaFolsom via message and unlisted YT video a month or so ago - I've not heard anything back since but hopefully they've acknowledged it.

I think it's confirmed there really isn't any GMs on console since they're still there. That's kinda sad since we've all been stuck on that loading screen for hours saying they exist. I guess it's a myth

The forum mods have zero power in game. Only thing they can do is pass information along.

they should be banned- but theyre obviously alt toons- and likely alt accounts. buy another version of the game- make a bot- send their mats to your main. easy money, but seriously how come this can't be tracked and eliminated? its one of the worst things in the game that seriously destroys the integrity of the game and also the economy.

I watched the video - and I have no doubt some are alts/fake accounts.

But let's speak hypothetically for a second... if this was all just actual players, actual accounts, with Twilights to summon... would it still be 'botting'?

This seems to me like somebody found a good spawn zone and learned to exploit it. Personally I don't see any foul play or anything wrong with this. Sure they're generating tonnes of hide - but I don't see this as cheating, it's simple exploitation of mechanics - and as I've always said - if the developers have the mechanics there, then the players can do as they wish.

It is cheating if they make 5 accounts to do it. But how do you determine who's real and who's not - and better yet, who appointed you to be chief investigator of Tamriel to check who's an actual player and who's not.

Nobody forces us to buy hide from the Guild Stores - this doesn't stop your game progress in any way - if you hit the enemies you'll get all the loot too - this doesn't do anything. What is the issue exactly?

    @lagrue

The game ToS say (roughly paraphrased) that you, yourself must be in control of your character whenever s/he is doing something in-game. Given that these characters are staying in the same spot, repeatedly doing the same move over and over again for 5+ hours, it's very easy to argue that they aren't being constantly controlled by the owner of the account. So even if it is a 'player' who has rubber-banded their control; they remain in breach of the ToS.

The issue has a couple of sides to it:

    1) The price of hide and associated improvement materials decreases significantly, directly affecting the economy

    2) I expect that these 'farmers' (read: botters) are farming these materials to sell for in-game gold, which can then be sold on (against the ToS) for real life currency. I've seen a significant number of players offering to buy set pieces in guild chat in exchange for Dreugh Wax - that they have likely purchased from these farmers (...) at a reduced rate.

It's not botting if you are present because you actually have to put work into the fighting. That is grinding.

You can tell that the ones in the video are bots because they are firing Impulse at regular intervals when no creatures have even respawned. That takes the use of a program or device that is against the ToS. And of course people are going to be upset - they are breaking the rules and getting items/money while not even being at the computer, while those of us that choose to follow the rules have to be here grinding like crazy to get the same result. I'd be pretty happy if I could go to work and come home to have my character waiting with a fresh pile of cash and mats, but I follow the ToS (as we all should). To let this goes on feels like a punishment to those who don't break the rules.

Most are likely trying to farm spriggan weapons as well as get CP EXP. I'd say ZOS should get rid of the bots they can and also institute an anti camping check. If they haven't moved more than 50m in over 10 mins but keep doing abilities, reduce the exp gain and give reduced loot (gold). Make sure the debuff is visible on the character so anyone that is alive can recognize it.

I've never seen a GM on console with 1000+ hours logged. I saw many on PC during closed beta days with less than 10 hours logged.

If that's true then I'm sad. Do ZoS even care about the integrity of the game. It's unfair, the amount of leather these bots are farming and have farmed over the last month really makes me question ZoS' commitment to their players

If these were ordinary bots, I would think they wouldn't be on the same timer, and ZoS has ok'd multi-boxing in the past. It would be difficult to determine botting in that case. Let's say someone found a way to multi-box and control the multi-box with a bot program. If ZoS contacts the botter, and the botter responds in a reasonable amount of time, now what?

Even without multi-boxing, you can't rely on timing alone, there are multiple reasons why a player takes an action at a particular frequency. Run a computer clock that makes a ringtone every x seconds while you watch Gone With the Wind. Further, network latency, ZoS' overloaded server hamsters and a few other factors make it so packet streams are irregular.

I think the person that posted above that they need to nerf the spot is probably the only way to put a crimp in this sort of farming. It's a crying shame, though. Since the early days of this game the fun level has been pushed down due to anti-bot measures, like lowered public dungeon exp, etc.. But what else is there in the state of technology today?
