Is there any hope in expecting an account transfer option? Like from Xbox to pc.

I hope ZOS are considering making account transfers available. I've recently switched to PC from ps4 and it's difficult to get back into the game after spending many hours doing all of the content , getting research done etc....

Currently, no such offering. Not even rumors of such.

yeah there should be transfers in my opinion but it should cost as much as the game cost then they're not losing out on money expected to get from a new account and also no crown store stuff copied so they'd make even more money on people wanting to rebuy stuff, imho zos are losing out massively on a money maker not allowing transfers.

I mean it wouldn't be a big job to set up a server change token other game sell these things, you'd name one day a week when transfers happen and that's the only day it could happen so it leaves 6 days of prep then zos wouldn't be spending much in resources and would only require a few staff to do it or they could just do what dcuo did and merge all servers together pc, xbone and ps4 but that'd be a costly thing at the moment as it's not required due to a lot of player still in the game.

@Quasar_0 i know how you feel i tried to start a new account the month and i just can't bare to run through everything again and now it hasn't been touched for a while other than to feed the horses.

Yeah, back in 2014. A year before the console shipped. They offered a limited time copy from PC to console. You could do one console, or two consoles for twice the price. After the copy, the console account and the PC account were both active, but independent. There is no interaction between platforms and progress on one does not reflect on the other.

I wouldn't mind paying 60€ (current going price for the digital Gold Edition) to transfer my toon from Xbox to PS4.
I don't even mind if my crown purchases have been reset, there has to be a consequence for my lazy habits, anyway
I'm not all that miffed about it, though. the graphical and performance difference between the Xbox one and the PS4 pro is enough to soothe the pain of the level/quest/gear/achievement/crafting/skillpoints grind. But if there was such a service, I'd hop on it like a Skooma addict.

I would even consider paying to transfer my account to the other megaserver (same platform). Seems very annoying that I can only play the US server and not the EU server without starting from scratch.

I would love that option too. Not so much for the characters, but for the crown store items I purchased on the xbox. Had an insane amount of mounts and costumes. Most of which are no longer available when I switched over to the PS4.

Why should there be consequences for crown store purchases? Nothing lazy about it whatsoever. Those items were paid for with real cash, cash ZoS got either way due to them being purchased through the crown store which is independent from LIVE or PSN's market places. If there should be consequences for anything, it should be character progression, not stuff purchased with real cash.

No as ZOS stated long ago it was a One time offer that wouldn't offered again. See the support pages as well

ESO was on PC at least a year before it released on consoles, they allowed everyone on PC the option to transfer their account and EVERYTHING on it over to consoles when consoles released, I always thought it was a terrible idea to give some people a head start over others.

But yeah at OP, they did it before, i don't see why they can't do it again, I actually want to switch to PC myself, would also mean more money for ZOS as they can cut Sony out of all crown purchases i will be making.

Heck, i'd even be willing to pay for a transfer (on top of obviously having to buy the game on the desired platform too.)

It was a great offer to me. I had originally planned to play on PS4, which was set to release 3 months after launch. They had announced it was delayed a year but if you purchased it on PC before original console release, you could transfer. It wasn't to give PC players a head start on console, but as an option to play the game despite the delay and transfer to your originally intended system.

Microsoft and Sony probably have no interest in such deals. More than anything else, this is likely why ZOS does not offer transfers.

Great offer for the people doing it, bad for everyone actually starting at console release. There's a reason games in beta do wipes when they hit launch and not let you keep everything you hoarded to sell later on.

Wasn't there a dupe glitch issue on PC before ESO came to consoles too? Pretty sure there was and they just let people keep the stuff.

They could always add it to the crown store loot crates - just keep buying crates until you unlock the transfer. Only problem is that on average it will take just over $100 to unlock the right crate.

(This is a joke and not real information). There are no transfer between platforms. It was a "one time" thing at console launch that PC accounts could be transferred over.

Look at it from someone with my perspective. I preordered ESO Imperial edition. I was very excited to start playing in June of 2014. May 2014 they tell me I won't be able to play until June 2015. If I were to buy it by June for pc I will be able to play on PS4 when it releases without losing everything.

It was a very limited consolation to people who wanted to play on console. I do agree they did implement the transfer badly though. I never even considered the exploit. People would have guild members load them up with valuables before the characters were copied if I remembered right. Then they gave the stuff back but the characters were already copied. Bad thing that was overlooked. Don't remember if they took any action.

There's no way they should do this again. Too easy for exploit. Like guys gonna transfer....guild gives generous donations and crazy sums of mats or anything worthwhile. The game is too far along at this point.

An easy way to avoid most exploits would be to simply not allow gold or non-equipped gear/items to transfer.

I see your perspective, I saw it at the time it occurred too, and i still don't care. Things get delayed all the time, no reason to damage an economy from day 1 of a release. Might seem harsh, but it really was a bad idea. It impacted the economy and pvp when there was zero reason it ever should have.

Maybe they can finally justify having every bloody thing bound and make use out of bound items in relation to transfers.

Bound? it can come, Not bound? you gonna lose this.

Or..... make it when you transfer it'll actually literally transfer, and not copy/paste. Transfer over and you can't continue playing that data on the previous system, so that way you can't just 'borrow' things from friends of guilds as they lose it when the transfer takes place.

    @Skcarkden

You summed it up well. The transfer was specifically due to the delayed release of the console servers. It was actually an account copy, not a transfer. It was a business decision.

Zos stated clearly it would be a one time deal and specific requirements were in place. Currently no one meets those requirements.

The same group of business minds is the group that still say no to server/platform transfers. It will not happen, at least any time soon as it is a bad business decision to permit it now for platform population issues that could develops.

I know quite a few players who have started over on PC from console and did just fine and now have a healthy amount of CP.

At this stage in the game it wouldn't bug me as long as their inventory doesn't carry over - this could lead to market 'saturation' of certain items - but boy was I peeved that PC Players were allowed to transfer their chars and stats from PC at console launch. It basically broke Alliance War for all the way up until One Tamriel because they had so much CP above the console gamers.

Now that's no worry, since every system has maxed players - but at first it was a crapshow. The only real issue I could see now is that - Botter on PC farms to crap, maxes inventory with rare mats, transfers to PS4, sells it all super cheap, breaks market temporarily.

That's exactly what happened to Warframe. PC Exclusives stayed on PC - but the PC Players still brought over tonnes of mods and parts, and saturated the market with them. They also brought over items called "Legendary Cores" and they weren't available on console at that point - they were selling for 8000 plat (170 plat is worth $10 roughly, so you can imagine).... people actually bought them - but then they got released to console players and now they float at 400 plat... yeah they've lost almost 100% of their value, because the PC players were extorting people the whole time and console players were none-the-wiser.

Transferring in games -especially online games - imo, is generally a bad thing unless devs take super serious considerations.
