Set drops

Wondered if anyone could give me an idea what items will drop from where please. Struggling to find info that's still accurate with 1T, have a list of what zones will give what sets but can't figure out where in a zone different things are most likely to drop.

I spent an hour or so happily farming a delve and dolmen for SoulShine Legs before a kindly passer-by told me they'd only drop from world bosses!

Just search for the set you want to see where it drops.
    Non-Dungeon Bosses
    - Delve bosses will now drop a waist or feet set piece from the zone they are located in.
    - Overland group bosses drop head, chest, legs, or weapon set piece from the zone they are located in.
    - Public dungeon bosses drop a shoulder, hand, or weapon set piece from the zone they are located in.
    - Many of these Bosses have a small chance to drop a uniquely-named item, instead of the expected set piece. This uniquely-named item is also a part of one of the sets of the zone they are located in, but may not adhere to the dropped slot guidelines above.

Soul Shine is an overland set that drops in Reaper's March. Dolmens would only get you jewelry. Group bosses drop legs. So you should team up and do one of those. There are 6 in each zone. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Reaper's_March

It's a major shame that certain specific pieces come from specific activites. Normally I wouldn't mind - but I'm trying to farm the Sun set... particularly just the necklace left (have green, need purple) and Stonefalls has probably the worst placement of Dolems in the game.

In Auridon you can do every dolem in a row and catch the wayshrine in time to make it to the next - but in Stonefalls that just can't happen, only 1 Dolem is within adequate travelling distance of a Wayshire... the others are simply too far placed so you get stuck farming one... wait x amount of time for somebody to do the far off ones... Dolem waits here are ridiculous... normally should be 5 min on the dot... instead we're looking at 10-15 minute waits. It's sad.

    That's brilliant, thanks a lot!

I'm assuming that list isn't set in stone and other items will drop sometimes? I've got hands from somewhere and haven't done a public dungeon.

I'm only missing weapons now so it's good to know I can stick with overland bosses from now on

Public dungeons drop the sets from that area. For example Crow's Wood will drop Shalk Exoskeleton, Silks of the Sun and Coat of The Red Mountain. Group dungeons will drop their own sets, both in version 1 and 2. For example Fungal Grotto will drop Viper's Sting, Dreugh King Slayer and Spider Cultist's Colwl. Both are in Stonefalls.

Gear doesn't scale to the amount your character scales, so yes, it falls behind as you level. So it's better to farm, buy, craft or have crafted gear at your level. Crafting each level is not necessary, but every 8-10 levels and every 40-50CP is advisable.

Hi I am new... to MMOs not just this one

    Equipment_Bonus.jpg

In a recent patch there was an "equipment bonus" stat added next to your race/class on the Character screen that kinda-sorta lets you know if you're wearing level-appropriate gear.

I personally haven't experienced this bus I hear that it starts to taper off at 2 levels below your current level/CP. Not sure if that's true.

The quality of your gear matters a lot, too. Whether it's gold or purple, and the quality of the enchantments on it. There's a lot to learn when you're new. There's a lot you couldn't possibly guess you don't know. Never be afraid to ask.

Any zone mob as a chance to drop any set piece its random, same in delves, no certain place will drop one set piece.

If you google search ESO WIKI for a certain set it will be more specific of what actual mob will drop what item from a set, (like world boss only for weapon.legs, or any delve boss for glove, helm etc)

Also this page covers all the sets. click the names and it shows were to get them:

Jewelry from Way of the Fire, Way of the Air and Martial Knowledge sets does not drop in dolmens, since there aren't any in Craglorn. Instead it drops from the chests that spawn when a nirncrux mine, anomaly or Anka-Ra burial has been successfully cleared. There are 5 of each.

    Itemization Changes

In order to support One Tamriel which allows you to go anywhere, we needed to make several significant changes to itemization and item sets. In general, each zone and dungeon in the game will now drop 3 sets – one for light, medium, and heavy armor – and all set drops in the game will scale up to CP160.

Item Sets will now drop for every item slot.
This excludes the Agility, Endurance, and Willpower jewelry sets.

Sets that grant a bonus to melee damage will now drop more intelligently (i.e. a set with melee damage will no longer drop with a bow or stave).

Helms and shoulders can now drop at all levels.
All set drops have a chance to be green, blue, or purple quality.
The chance of receiving blue and purple quality items increases as you gain more levels.
All set drops from the overland are now bind-on-equip.
All set drops from dungeons and Trials are bind-on-pickup.
Dungeon bosses and mini bosses will now drop a set piece 100% of the time.
Mini bosses will drop either a hand, waist, or feet set piece.
Bosses will drop either a chest, shoulder, head or leg set piece.
The final Boss of a dungeon will drop weapons or jewelry.
Normal mode dungeon bosses will drop blue-quality items.
Veteran mode dungeon bosses will drop purple-quality items.
Agility, Willpower, and Endurance sets no longer drop from dungeon bosses. They are now rewarded upon completing a random dungeon using the Grouping Tool.
Note: These sets can still be found in the Cache chests in Imperial City.
All dungeon set drops are bind-on-pickup.

    Non-Dungeon Bosses

We dramatically increased the chance for Delve bosses to drop a waist or feet set piece from the zone they are located in.
Each boss also has a small chance to drop a unique set piece.
Overland group bosses have a 100% chance to drop head, chest, legs, or weapon set piece from the zone they are located in.
Public dungeon bosses have a much higher chance to drop a shoulder, hand, or weapon set piece from the zone they are located in.

    Trials

Mobs and bosses in Normal mode will drop blue-quality gear.
Mobs and bosses in Veteran mode will drop purple-quality gear.
The last boss on Veteran Hard Mode will drop gold-quality jewelry.
Hard Modes all contain an item worth 10,000 gold which can only be acquired once every 5 days.

    Treasure Chests

Treasure Chests gained from defeating a Dark Anchor have a 100% chance to drop a ring or amulet set piece form the zone they are located in.
The above is also true of Unstable Anomalies found in Craglorn.
Treasure chests found in the world have a chance to grant any set piece that can drop in that zone.
Simple chests have a slight chance of dropping an item set piece.
Intermediate chests have a good chance of dropping an item set piece
Advanced and Master chests have a guaranteed chance of dropping an item set piece.
If you have the Treasure Hunter Champion Passive, both the above chances and quality of an item will be improved.
Treasure chests found from a Treasure Map have a guaranteed chance to drop one random set piece that can drop in that zone.
Higher difficulty chests have a better chance of spawning in the world, but easier chests will continue to be more common.
The loot from the CE Treasure Chest maps now scale to your level up to CP160.

Shields count as a weapon for drop purposes and will drop anywhere weapons can.

It'll be from world bosses but they're only one of the possible drops so it'll take a while to get what you want. You'll have a lot of head pieces before you get anything useful!
