maelstrom weapon question?

Is it worth it to use maelstrom weapons if one isnt sharpened. For instance I have a sharpened maelstrom dagger and a defending maelstrom axe. If the shield penetration is an issue couldn't I put some cp into the stat that increases physical penetration?

I would say debatable.

I tried using 1 dagger in infused in vHR on thursday on my stam dk my dps dropped from 36k to 26k mostly because I had to change my rotation so much. Even if I used both my infused daggers I double it would get any higher. I dont really know though for sure. Sure the enchant would proc but but for a stam DK to flurry between every dot is frustrating, especially when you have to swap bars so much more than nomal to apply your dots.

If you run something like night mothers gaze then...I guess you could try.

I think though it does depend on what kind of stamina build you are...for me stam sorcers are a grey arena as I dont have any same goes for stamblades alls i really know is my DK lol

@xeNNNNN im a stam DK as well. I've been trying them out to try and get the rotation down as well, its a learning curve for sure.

yep it is, from what ive heard and tried myself you essentially have to weave your rapid strikes between your dots which...honestly I can see how it could be good but my current rotation is fine as is...I mean I will probably experiment a little bit more with it.

Whats your dps at? because honestly so long as its in the "decent/highish" category you could run a single axe with a dagger if the axe is defending if you want a little more defence. I actually avoid having to do that by putting 8 points in to health in my attributes so I dont have to bother with resistance as much haha. Who needs mini-maxing :P

I pulled 30k unbuffed. 40k with buffs. I did vCOA II today with the new weapons and my dps was a little lower but its probably me messing up my rotation every once in a while. I use TBS VO jewellry, kra'ghs and maelstrom if you are curious. NMG would probably have been better for the pledge because warhorn was only used once. Ty for your response.

If on pc get an addon that shows your penetration values, makes it easier to work out what you do and don't need. Penetration from cp is really expensive; 60cp gives about 3k pen, whereas the sharpened trait is over 5k pen on a large weapon or 2 small weapons. I would say you need the sharpened trait but I don't know how you play so you may not.

ahh kraghs, prefer vilidreth myself seem to get more burst I need to try kraghs out at some point. Im currently trying out selenes but its very unstable from what ive tried so far. well unreliable I guess would be the better word.

Yeah I used to use TBS but after reaching 71% crit Felt like I didn't really have a reason to have a second mundus so I switched to NMG.

@xeNNNNN I used velidreth for a while but I upped my dps at least 3k with kraghs. I feel apprehensive about crafting NMG as someone usually has it taken care of in trial runs but ill see. Are pc NA ? If so my guild is always looking for new folks to do trial runs if you have room.

yeah it doesnt stack so you can only use it on one person in trial runs unfortunately, come to think of it - it would be quite overpowered if everyone could use it haha.
