Trait swapping

Cplpackb14_ESO
Are you sporting a Maelstrom bow with defending? Farmed your 5th medium training and seventh prosperous kena with no sign of divines? Not a fan of the rng?

Petition your local mage guild associates to work with city tradesmen to create a trait swapping method.
----
IE 50 soul gems per item quality rank to swap you any trait known by your character.

Makes soul gems and research more useful and helps mitigate bad luck rngesus from crapping on your day. Say no to the rng and yes to personal choice.

Hate away.

If you´re going to lable all who doesn´t support your opinions as "haters" then you are in for a bad conversation enviroment. And I see a lot of people complaining about the RNG in vMSA (I´m not a huge fan of it, but not really crying about it) and how they never get the weapon (with desired trait) they want. The only thing vMSA needs is a well-implemented token system, nothing more, nothing less.

And to the matter at hand about traitswapping: I think that traitswapping can be implemented to the game, BUT only on crafted gear. You´ve to realise that there´re more places than vMSA where RNG is involved. You have trials and dungeons as well. What would be the point of doing the content (lets say doing a dungeon to get a certain monster helmet) if I just can swap to a desirable trait once I get the light/medium/heavy version of the helm I want?? Why would I do that specific dungeon again when I have all I need from that instance??

Some might not share my view on this but RNG is one of the thing that keeps PvE alive. If you don´t get the disirable drop you´ll need to run the dungeon/trial again (or you can just leave it but then you won´t get the item you want).

I didn't label everyone how disagrees with me haters but on MMO forums in general there is a certain amount of QQ get gud replies I expect. I understand farming is a popular method used by most mmos to keep stale PvE alive but rng especially rng that seems weighted to more useless traits is a poor method. I have been playing since beta and have most everything I want with the ideal traits on my main. I don't really play alts. What I see now though is a spend a huge percentage of my time helping guildies farm sets or helms only to run the same thing 20 times and no one see it drop. Kind of a turn off for new players and honestly a bit of a turn off for me.

I, personal preference, enjoy challenging mechanics with achievements and title rewards. Gear is gear and it'll come but it's a bit mind numbing at the moment. At least for me but I doubt I'm alone in this. Wasn't as bad with just helms but now a lot of people are praying to rng for 5 piece sets and helms.

What if you had a system where you need "fragments" to create the trait swapping material and those fragments were dropped by completing the content? This would keep us grinding the content, but give us a way to create desirable traits on our gear.

By the way, I also support the token idea, but it seems there is a lot of disdain for token systems. Not sure why, but it seems to me that mosts traits on gear are undesirable, so why not give us a way to earn desirable traits that does not involve RNG? Whether it is through re-traiting items or a token system or something similar, I think the game needs a way to make this happen without having to deal with RNG. This way if you get your drop the first couple of times, great but it also would provide a cap the number of runs required to get what you want.
