Hey, so I am fairly on/off with playing the game, and I was wondering what a good way right now to make gold is? I am finding myself in quite the pickle where I have about 1k gold and need like 50k.

Making food/drinks and sell to npc merchant, making new chars questing and selling everything you get to merchant, also grinding for the new sets like spriggen and mother sorrow and selling them to players.

Pickpocket or break into lockboxes, fence what you find. Level up legerdemain for the increase to the amount you can fence and Thieves Guild (if you have access to it) for the bonus gold when fencing.

Some Public Dungeons have groups of Mobs that offer up decent gold. One I am thinking off I walked out after 30 minutes having made 5K in gold alone, not counting the loot I could vendor. Anyway, I was getting 100 to 180 gold per Mob Group in the place I am thinking of, and it's not the only one like that.Note, not all Public Dungeons have decent gold payouts, so YMMV.

As mentioned above, Legerdemain can net you 5K to 10K gold in 30 to 45 minutes, even if you just farm the containers in the Daggerfall Docks or some other similar place.

Making foods and drinks can net you some coin too. Just make the highest level Green recipes you can make and sell the result to the ingame NPC Vendors. This can be tedious if your making hundreds if your on the console, on the PC, get Cookery Wiz to queue up multiple recipes and quantities.

Kill everything in sight while questing. Sale everything literally.
Steal everything green, blue or even white and sale 100 items a day stolen

Trading takes time away but if you join a real guild. One that isn't based on traders and one that is based on a healthy group that buys and sales within itself that also works.

I'm still selling Thieves Guild motifs for 10-15k each (PS4). You can get 1 guaranteed motif per character per day for completing a heist quest in the 8 minute time limit (up to 6 if someone else will share heist quests with you).

EDIT: Oops. Yea, I must L2Read. I didn't see the "without". Sorry. Could sell in zone chat though.

Not all trade guilds expect you to be super active or pay a fee. They may not have the best locations, but it's not like you won't sell stuff.

Also, I am in 4 social guilds and one trade guild. My social guilds get kiosks as often, if not more often than the Trade Guild does.

Like Wayfare said, take up thievery. You can make quite a bit of gold doing that.

Also - farming dungeons can be pretty profitable too. Even the public ones.

I would suggest just any of the villages scattered around the world because they are usually less populated (not as much competition) then the main cities are and usually have less guards as well.

I'd start working on your legerdermain skills also and get your pickpocketing skills up. That helps a lot. I also like stealth speed increases.

Hirelings are still decent free money but you need to have them on lot of toons to make a difference. Writs are rewarding too. Although both needs you to sell the gained material to make money - or use them yourself to save money.

Daily guild quests have a quite good payout compared to the effort.

Gold is slow going in the beginning and not sure at what level it suddenly changes, but you end up making a few k per day without even attempting to make gold. A character i levelled from 0-50 during the Halloween event is now sitting pretty with over 200k. I've bought jewellery, riding lessons and so on, yet the gold just keeps going up. Writs help a lot too, but i tend to harvest all nodes I stumble across. You might even hit it lucky and find a good piece of in demand gear that you don't need. Spinner rings that you can farm from some dolmens are a money maker, especially the purple ones.

I also find not deconstructing high level useless gear and just selling it to vendors is better. It covers both my repair costs and keeps adding to my balance.

If you have the CP, Treasure Hunter perk can be profitable when you find a few chest runs to circle around on in zones with rare sets. you collect gold and trash drops all the while and the occasional purple set item that you can sell.
I made 100k just doing marked chest routes in 2 days, and that was not even selling the non-set stuff, I deconned all that.

I level ledger at the boat docks in Daggerfall. Just go onto the ships and there are no NPCs to bust you. Steal everything that isn't nailed down and if you have a hammer steal everything. Thieves den for selling the ill gotten booty is right there near the docks. Doesn't take long at all. Be sure to grab the weapons and armor lying around also. People sometimes forget to grab that and only pilfer the containers.

Go into Anvil Castle, (preferably if you're a class good at sneaking) then pickpocket, Blade of Woe, and loot EVERYONE. Over and over until you've maxed your fencing limit for the day. Rinse and repeat each time you log in to play. The Castle is a gold mine, plus you get peace of mind murdering everyone, cause they're nasty Pirates.

Find a good farm.spot and stay there getting mats until your eyes bleed, go refine and sell the gold mats in zone chat. Then repeat, boring but effective. Be easier if you join a trade guild though and sell in trader instead of zone selling

Also this. Update 12 made it a lot easier to find Ruby mats since if you're level capped then you find them EVERYWHERE. And Tempering Alloy especially sells for the most compared to Wax and Rosin.

I loot every plant I come across and make poisons.Mixing them with either spider eggs or flesh fly larvae ( they cost around 1k gold for 200 ).
From a single mixture, you get 16 poisons which worths 80 gold.

Given the new update, I'm going to recommend fishing. Boring, yes, but perfect roe prices are already on the rise. And those are very easy to sell in zone chat.

I also second everyone who suggested thievery. Even if you are just questing, loot everything you possibly can. I found an imperial motif in a low level area nightstand once.

don't forget crafting writs...you get several hundred gold for each writ, and you can do 6 writs daily on each of your chars...so that works out, very rough math to be about 1500 for each char, if you say about 250g for each...I forget the exact amount but it's something like that...and when the amount of gold per writ goes up to about 400-450, presumably based on either pc or skill level, you're talking 2500g or so, and that's for each char, daily...

so if you figure the lowest gold at 250, you're talking roughly 12,000 daily for 8 chars and if you have the other 4 chars, that goes to 18,000 daily...the only thing that might slow you down is the amount of mats needed for crafting...what I'd do sometimes is to pick & choose which writs to do daily based on whatever mats I have more of on any given day...& try to do 4 or 5 writs on each char....

then add it to any stealing/fencing that you do daily...it can really add up quickly...this past week really not doing too much more than the writs & fencing, and also the occasional quest that came my way naturally, I picked up close to 100k in gold...so it's definitely a good way to go, that doesn't depend on trade guilds or the current market value of this mat or that motif, etc...
