Finally beat malestrom freaking arena!!

was stuck on the last boss for like forever then the event motivated me to try again and after some tries i finally beat that pieace of crap.

Ofc *** drops, got a charged resto and a precise ice staff.

Not sure if i want to redo it again, apparently I will have to quit my whole life and be a slave to it if i want to get a useful weapon.

But still I did it, for the sake of doing it not the weapons

Congrats. It's an hell of an achievement.

I tried it for the first time last night... Oh man this is going to be a slog the first time through.

I could feel the rage building while dancing around in that industrial size wood chipper they call Seht's Balcony. So I called it a night.

Precise ice staff is not bad. Use it with winterborn

Ya, Rink of Frozen Blood and Vault of Umbrage are going to be "fun".

I think the thing that really drove me nuts in Seht's Balcony was constantly getting my camera forced into 1st person by the machine/terrain every time I wanted to look towards the center.

First off congrats OP!!

I see a lot of dislike for stages 5 and 7. I have literally died more times on the last round of stage 9 than the whole rest of the arena combined, and counting! The way I keep trying to spin that into a positive is that I should be a pro at stage 9 by the time I finally beat it.

Hahah aye I hear you, many absolutely hate stages 5/7, but also the end.

Yep defo be a pro, gotta keep morale high, somehow, but then you get to the end and get some horrific trait...but hope you get a good one

Stage 7 is by far the worst stage overall, but stage 9 final boss took me longer than all the arena.

Im a stamina Dk dont know if its different for other classes

GZ on your 1st completion, once your get use to it by running it a few more times it'll be a lot faster but then you'll rage when you get like 1 death and it's due to lag (like me)

Yea 7 definitely sucks, mostly because of the RNG. I thought it was pretty easy though if you don't get one of those stupid poison things inside the shield on the boss round, or kill the shield guy with my Hurricane. I actually died more times on the round before with the 3 archers than the boss round.

Look at joys guide to maelstrom! The frozen rink round is easy for me after using the guide!

Agreed, did a run this morning with only 2 deaths before stage 9, then tons of just dumb lag-death trying to follow the shield while DPSing shards in phase 2... so frustrating.

Unfortunately, there is just a lot of randomness and "unforgivable" mistakes that can be made at the end there...

To all the people still trying, keep it up! If a scrub like me can do it, anyone can!

Stage 7 is absolutely horrible. It's the hardest stage of VMA for all the wrong reasons. Plus it doesn't help that all the reasons that it's so challenging are due to things based on chance. Flower spawn under you? Wipe. Flower spawn and explode under you while you're in the minder's shield? Wipe. 1 of 2 minders die while boss is midway through an animation of doing damage to you? Wipe. It's ridiculous.

Flowers and the archers on the 7 th round make it hard. The ads in the 5th round make it hard. I aoe them down while using dots on the bosses. Once ads are down I go into my rotation on the bosses, that has made it wayyyyy easier for me

Round 8 is the hardest for me, I don't know why. And round 9 is a peice of cake. Probably because I was stuck on round 9 for 3 months on my first run through it

I finished once again, but stage 7 was actually the least of my problems, died maybe twice the whole stage. The ice stage and the spider stage did most of the work and ofc the *** last boss. I got a defending mace, a nirn shield and an infused resto.

If you're a stam DK, just slot wings and use them once per add spawn and that'll be a major help. I always wished I could have DK wings on my magblade while learning that stage.

congrats! I bet that is a really good feeling.

working through it myself, never really attempted until recently (several normal mode clears within the last couple months) and then been slowly chipping away at vet. I'll do a stage and then put it down for a day or more before attempting again. Pledges and PVP with friends usually takes priority. I'll likely be finishing this weekend though. Hit stage 8 last night and got to the boss with ease but by that point was too tired to really keep going.
