What is the better option to use to continue to beat Maelstrom?

Ive completed Maelstrom 3 times over the last several days and have gotten Two One handed Axes one Precise and the other Powered. What my question is would it be better to use the Two Maelstrom one handed axes with those traits or is it better to use The Precise Axe along with a sharpened dagger? Right now my set up is 5 Night Mother, 4 VO, and 2 Validreth. I can drop one of the VO and add the 2nd Maelstrom Axe or keep the 4 pc VO and use a sharpened dagger. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Work it out to use both axes. Even in those traits they make those single target dots very powerful. I run 5 VO 5Hundings just in VMA with Maelstrom weapons. The 5 VO is great if you can work it out.

I would test it out on your build for a while and see how it works. Do a run with the bad vMA traits and see if you notice a difference or see a DPS increase/drop. When I got my first two vMA Dual Wields in bad traits I tested them and found I was doing 5-10% more damage with a pair of Sharpened regular weapons than the vMA ones. On the other hand, my bad traited vMA bow works out to more DPS since it stays on the back bar most of the time.

Don't under-estimate the DPS increase of Sharpened Weapons and over-estimate the DPS increase of vMA weapons. In a solo situation like vMA they don't increase DPS as much as people think.

Yea I switch to skoria on the last Boss, Vali just doesn fit in that stage very well.

Thats what I was wondering if they stacked or not. I use a lot of dots so if they stack I cant see why both axes would be best for me.

They do stack. Flurry dot flurry dot ( furry can empower flurry). Not sure your class but try it out. The 5 VO like others have said will probably help more than anything.

I got a Precise Dagger on my 3rd run so I'll be using the Precise Axe and Dagger now!

I was wondering a bit about Veli vs Valkyn. I have Veli on my stam sorc. I've noticed, though, that it sometimes "goes off" when I am not facing a mob and so is completely wasted. I guess the downside of putting Valkyn on my stam Sorc is that my CP are set up for weapon damage so it might suffer a bit on that front. Does anyone have a recommendation? I can easily just try both, I guess, but fore knowledge would likely be useful.
BTW, I am on the last stage of vMA.

Ok first off.

Khrags is hands down the better choice out of them all. - My flawless speed runs consist of it and to be honest don't know how I'd be able to BURN the bosses that fast using anything else (tbh)

Second.

Maelstrom weapons - Isn't the way to go in Maelstrom using them puts you at a HUGE disadventage

You should be using 5 vo/5 nm with monster set of your choosing - this gives best results (tbh)
