New character classes after 3 years of stagnation

    No, at first - please implement dual wield staves.

    That's needed even more since the magicka characters could use additional weapon to utilize 2 full sets of 5 pcs. plus full monster set, ie. 12 items, not 11 like it is now.

I totally DO NOT FEEL like I am progressing anymore. You can grind to level 50 in like 2 days now, and that's what everyone is doing. The first question people ask my guild when they join, is 'how quickly can I max level. Gosh I remember the early days of people asking totally different questions - sad really, something has been lost.

    3 years into the game, and we still have the same old 4 classes we had to start with. Zos, in your ambitious vision to promote the New ZosWorld Order of DLC variety and new content, you have missed the most obvious progression in the game that has been crying out for ages. Character classes. Shame on you folks! Shame!

    Do you think we are absolute idiots to sell us 4 more character slots, that allow us to play the same classes again? We are sick and tired of fiddling and faffing our builds to get an inevitable Stam or Magicka build out of 4 classes. The 'Feed them Cake' (literally and figuratively) attitude has to go. Get real and at least indicate to the community that your heads are not shoved up that dark tunnel where even ogres are afraid to go?

    How about alternate character classes like a druid as a healing type, with new spells and abilities. A dark necromancer or magician to balance the Sorc class. A paladin or berzerker to add spice to the DK class. A new thieving type, or even a hardcore assassin would be a nice change to a nightblade.

    Hell, I would even pay crowns to own a new character class.

    I remember paying subs. Now, not a chance in hell I am going to pay subs again until you, dear beloved Zos, wake up and remember .. us.

    GIVE US MORE CLASSES PLEASE!

    I personally want them to finally add the Warden class. I know it was scrapped early on, but it's a class that has so many possibilities. Heck, it can even complitment the fire (Dragonknights) and shock (Sorcerers) skill lines with frost. Please consider it, ZOS. There's a good number of us who really want the Warden class.

    Please no new classes. I agree that some new skill lines need to be added to the game , but they should be general skills lines like the fighters and mages guild thing , with everyone being able to access them.

    We don't need a new class. Spellcrafting will be sufficient and completely better. We have been waiting for more than 2 years. The combat is getting stale.. A game will never be perfect, but the old excuse of fixing bugs is not viable anymore. Eventually it will be 5 years, and everyone would still be using the excuse "fix bugs first". Which is completely understandable, but for a game company to be this slow is really hurting the community. Just bring Spellcrafting already...

    It would be wise for ZOS to take the concern seriously, and perhaps act more maturely and professionally than posting memes in response.

    People have always grinded to max level, in every game. People grinded to max vet level when there were vet levels. People asking different questions because the conceptual representation of levels has changed is not symptomatic of the system somehow being worse than it was before.

    And there is lots to do if you want feelings of progression. Achievements, collecting gear, levelling skills. I understand you want more diverse class selection, and thats a fair point, but your argument seems to be more about the fact that your overall character number doesnt mean anything.

    When you look at the changes, progression has shifted from your overall level to the actual content of the game. Thats fundamentally a good thing. It means that your progress is rooted in the elements of the game and not just cranking up the level cap.

    People... please, stop calling necromancers. They are the bad guys in TES lore... they are an order created by Mannimarco, that swore to destroy everything, from Aedra to Daedra (from that perspective they can be the real good guys, but no) and whose hobby is to capture souls.

    If you want to play a necro, go try Diablo 2 or the new season of Diablo 3... there's a good necro

    Personally I'm fine with the current classes in-game. It would be cool if maybe 1 or 2 more were added, but hard to imagine what they would add, since the 4 archetypes pretty much cover standard roles.

    The only thing I could imagine is they opt to add another Magic class and Rogue class, since we have two somewhat Warrior-ish classes with DK and TEMP.

    That being said, I agree with both sides. Maybe it'd be good to see something new class wise, but let's focus on balance and fixes to promote healthy synergies both in PvP and PvE first.

    More classes would mean more balancing for @Wrobel right? Honestly I would just like to motion for spellcrafting. For some reason I fear spellcrafting is being held up in production for petty reasons. Though that is just conjecture.

    FYI not all necromancers are allied with Mannimarco. Besides there is far more to the game than just the main quest which is the only place where your argument has any relevance.

    I never understood why people want to deny others content when it need not have any major impact on their playing experience whatsoever.

    If you don't think its lore friendly, don't use it. But there are plenty of players, especially RP's, who think it is.

    About the deletion thing, ZOS would have to increase the limit if someone already have 12 characters. It is something that they could do.

    People do not like new classes for different reasons. They feel that it will make balance even worse, they think the classes we have already cover everything we could want (they do not), they don't like the class system at all and would rather have new skills, they don't want to level a different character...

    I for one want not a "new" class, but the old, scrapped Warden class to make a comeback. It had two skill lines that I wanted for two of my existing characters, and I would reroll if it was released (it would hurt to reload my Argonian, though, after all that fishing...).

    Ok so they increase it... I had 24 character in SWTOR... they don't have to limit it.. but if they add a class they would increase it for everyone that had the ability to make the new class. I really think that its a really weak argument against a new class is how many slots you have to make characters as those can be increase on whim by Zenimax.

    As far as class balance.. that's a waiting for a train that just ain't coming. In fact current class system is already unbalanced.. how many posts do you have of people talking about other believing there pigeonholed into roles.. especially Templars having more and diverse class can help with that. Waiting for balance between class's is a pipe dream... it will never never never happen. So sitting here stagnate of new class's will not fix that.

    As I stated adding class's does not break balance in games.. WOW is still kicking 10 years later and have added class's, DCUO adds class's all the time and its still there.. Adding class's does not break games and adds more diversity.

    Expanding current class or adding a new class I would like to see.. such as a necromancer line added to sorcery, ranger line added to night blades as an example.. but that means adding in more skills to a already limited skill load out..

    I would prefer new class that would explore those new class more in depth such as a necromancer death/ice style class, ranger class with pet/range/melee tree and such. To make them more unique and not just tagged on to another class's skill tree.

    Oh and to add.. adding a new class has nothing to do with current bugs in game or adding other features... as there are different dev groups in charge of different things.. such as content to UI to bug fixing.. they are not limited to one thing at a time....

    Which is precisely why spell crafting along the style teased a year ago would work. It expanded existing content by encouraging exploration in the world and facilitated character growth beyond just getting a higher cp level.
    Currently the only way to expand on character diversity requires farming of gear drops.

    Lol. Thanks for talking for all of us. But no. ZoS should balance the classes they have right now before they even consider adding a new class. They are better off adding new skill lines than a new class anyway.
    Crown Crates are a trap. Don't fall for the gamble! Balance? What Balance? Balance, smellance.
