I think people are nuts running it, a solo arena in a multi-player game. I'll be honest I did have a go, died to the same 10m ranged melee attacks and my own channeled attacks being stuck to a target with nothing I can do about it. It felt exactly the same as when I tried doing it a year ago despite its many fixes.

I don't even need the weapons, I don't do hardcore PvE nor would I need them to complete any content in this game. They're actually pretty turd for PvP where most 5 pc set bonuses out perform them so it's better to have 2 x 5 pc sets and a monster set.

Yup I usually have a few runs ruined by 2-3 lag deaths/invisible enemies and mechanics not resetting etc.

This is a mmo game. Why is Maelstrom even in this game? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Perhaps I may have some interest in doing it if I could play with other players but why should I play it by myself in a game that is supposed to be a Massively multiplayer online game?

Maelstrom arena would be perfect addition to Skyrim, not in Elder Scrolls Online.

No doubt that place is boring but most of us adapted. Anyway, sharpened VMA Inferno is a nice addition for magicka damage dealers, but not game changing like the dual wield and bow for trials (Not to mention you need 3x RNG luck to get all these in perfect traits)

And as i mentioned before in a different topic, VMA turns you into a better player overall which is more valuable than anything. To be honest, when i get my last weapon i'll leave that place forever but still won't deny the fact that VMA should stay as it is. If nerfs would solve problems then why the hell some people still whine about IC dungeons which are now shades of their past ?

My favorite is when I get an entire round of enemies spawning at once. Dealing with 10+ enemies can be stressful as hell.

Usually I just die to phantom attacks where the enemy instakills me, but there was no attack animation displayed. I just take damage instantly, die, then cry. The DK boss on round 4 of stage 8 is REALLY bad about that.

VMA is just a showcase of every broken issue with this game. If VMA was my house I would be too embarrassed to have any guests. You cannot make a twitch response arena in a game that can't handle simple things.

Both the loot RNG and the fact of enduring the poor performance dungeon is causing end game people to leave. Maybe they don't care about those players but end game players are the ones shepherding up the next generation of players through guilds and providing guides and information on how to get the most of the game and how to complete dungeons. When you lose the end game players you lose your future, plain and simple.

I have seen it happen in Lotro and it will happen here. End game people leave, and with them goes the knowledge to do end game content. Established guilds that shepherd in new players fall apart while leaving players undeveloped enough to complete endgame content. Seeing that endgame content isn't being done they stop developing end game and start developing toward a casual roving market (note this represents our current majority playerbase). This leaves the longterm players unfulfilled so they unsub and leave. This causes them to focus on the cash shop in an attempt to catch the casual roving player base into a payment and even less development is spent on quality. We are headed in the same direction.
