so what happens to us grinders

Zeth163
Zeth163
I need some help understanding this. Im a grinder. its how i always played.normally if I run into an enemy way stronger than me I would just go grind out a few levels do some easy quests and come back stronger to kick his ass. but by my understanding is now they are all scaled to us. so if I run into a difficult boss or group of enemies it doesnt matter how much i grind out they will always be ahead of me. so the only way to actually play is to play in a group? which isnt really good for me because my play time is so sporadic its almost impossible to find a good group to run with when i am on. so can i get help with this is grinding pointless now?

Well, if you grind out a few levels or skyshards, you will have new options as far as skills go.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    better gear?

    more cp?

Yeah more cp = more powerful. Afaik the mobs scale to your level upto cp160 and there they stop, so any cp you have above that means an easier time with mobs, assuming appropriate gear.

There is a big difference between fighting a mob with a two skill rotation vs a full rotation.

absolutely. i don't think, could be wrong, that the mobs have an equivalent above 160. it's much the same as early game if you hit something you can't beat go away level a bit, and better gear is always good, then go back and try again.

I thought the same too during the first week or so of 1T, but I'm now soloing a larger number of world bosses and I'm not an uber gamer by any stretch of the imagination. Nor is any of my characters slotted with the very top PvE gear. I'm running around with crafted gear and stuff I bought in guild shops. I just think you need to eat some food, maybe chug a potion and if you like grinding, you'll love the bosses. It's a big grind fest taking most of them down solo. The only bosses i struggle with are those damn water siren thingys (those things that just love killing me quickly with their water AoE), especially the ones in Reaper's March and a couple of other bosses. They've just become more time consuming. Add to that, the areas with the sought after gear (mostly DC areas im my experience) there's usually someone around within 5mins.

    @jedtb16_ESO

What you are seeing is there are CP160 Mobs and then there are CP160 Mobs. In the zones that used to be Zone 1 and 2 for an alliance, you will generally find the mobs to be easier than the mobs that are in the zones that used to be Zone 4 and Zone 5. And in any one zone you may find mobs that are harder than others, simply because the old leveling zones made the mobs harder as you get near the end of the zone. Same to an extent when they were Vet Zones.

So, while all mobs are scaled to CP160, some mobs are stronger than others in various places. Remember this if you ever go out to grind mobs for CPs or Loot. Find the squishier ones.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes, I'm afraid the more CP and better gear is really the answer. Leveling up will allow you to unlock more skills and morphs, but really, once you hit Level 50 and grab a few skyshards, you should have most of your necessary skills unlocked. There literally won't be anything left to unlock that will improve your performance. It will come down to (1) gear, (2) distribution of CPs, and (3) wait for it, wait for it ... you know it's coming ... learning to play. Yeah.

By the way, I have a friend who loves to grind. She says that after a day at work it helps her relax just killing mobs for a couple of hours while she listens to music. She likes to see how much exp she can get in a single mob fight.
