How do you make money on ESO?

Before 1T I made most of my money from trial drops, specially selling VO, IA among groups and other BoE items on store. Made some good money like 800k or something. Ever since 1T I have just been using money and gaining very low. I had 6 characters to equip though, that cost me a lot of money now I'm down to like 180k on all my characters combined and don't know how to make more money.

So question, how do these people with the millions get all that gold? Also is there another way to make gold thats not running around for hours collecting mats and refining them for yellow tempers? The mats themselves became so cheap now.

    you have choices....

    buy stuff low sell higher.

craft stuff that people want - pots and poisons and food, i have made a couple of mil from pots and food.

and, sorry to say, farm mats. i have made several millions from mats, motifs and perfect roe.

    never done a trial.

I make money by selling stuff to normal vendors lol. That is why I am so poor. The other reason are jewelry sold by Golden. Could't resist the temptation.

TG, DB, gold coast dailies. Sell the motif pages. Makes me about 60k a day.

Craglorn dailies. Martial knowledge rings seem to sell ok, Yokudan motif sells for crazy money but I'm only selling dupes. Helms seem to go for tons same as celestial as so unique.

Easy money to be made outside of extorting group members who may have been willing to give out dupes for free but hey.

Thieving while I do my writs (up to 15 somedays), questing/killing.. pretty much in that order. The only thing I spend money on is alt mount/bag upgrading and missing motif pages on EU (still at nirn researchables on NA). Not had gold issues in a very long time.

I'm pretty broke, but when I need money I usually do some trading. For example, I found a Sun sharpened axe for 30k in the store. I bought it and sold it the next day for 180k. I also found some red mountain weapons from the same trader below market price, so I swiftly picked them up and sold them.
While I was farming gear in zones I managed to pick up some great stuff I had no use of, but MM told me they were worth over 10k a piece, so I listed and sold them also.
Since I've been doing a lot of dungeon runs I've found a lot of leather, and from that, a lot of wax. I sell that too.
While running around I pick flowers, mostly columbine and corn flower. They sell for quite a lot if you have a nice stack of them.
I also sell the keys you drop from mobs in IC. Selling them in stacks of 60 will net you a nice price, and they are easy to find. With the tel var you drop when looking for keys you can buy mats (ingots, leather, hakeijo) and sell them. Leather isn't selling like it used to, but if I list ingots they are generally gone over night.

I don't make much money at all, across all my characters I probably have around 50K gold having played since PC launch. That's partly because with a lot of characters I'm largely self-sufficient, and partly because I've only one level 50 character and stick to the main story and other solo PvE content plus co-operative play for world bosses, delves and dolmens etc. Mainly, however, it's because I have little or nothing to do with the trading system which I hate.

Yep, murder is the way to go. Get your TG/DB skills up to 9 or 10...first you pickpocket the victim...then you murder them - double whammy on the loot. Head to the Fence, cash out.

I've made so much gold...there is a place in Alik'r that is just made for murder...you will have to find it for yourself...

Farming mats without even trying. Just wandering around from doing various guild dailies or waiting for groups to form can net a decent number of Lorkhan's Tears, Nirnroot or other materials that sell well.

Used to make money from farming HM trials but now do it primarily from selling gear from boss/dolmen/delve boss drops (Spriggan always sells well).

You can also make around 100k from leveling a character from 1-50 and then finishing off all your skills to level them completely. Simply sell everything you loot rather than deconstruct it and it should net you a nice bit of money with the added bonus that you're not spending it since you're only leveling and not equipping it as you would an end game character.

Also you can sell your excess gold materials if you have them laying around. Sure it might come in handy if something uber meta pops up, but if you're into the uber meta builds you'll have enough money from undaunted plunder and time investment to buy gold materials if you're ever short.

Also selling motifs when they're new makes a nice bit of gold, pretty sure I've made around 1 million from them since TG and then bought what I didn't have when the market was more saturated and prices were cheaper.

    Farm and sale
    Farm and trade
    Steal and sale

    Pretty boring but that's how

*How do ppl have or make millions.....well a little background.

ZOS decided to allow people like me on PC to have their accounts copied over to console.
Some people (not me) got guilds to agree to give them a huge gold loan just before character copy

So let's say you were in 5 trading guilds on PC and each loaned you anywhere from 100k to 5 mil per guild.

On copy night the account kept the gold on console and the next day the ppl gave all the gold back to the guild.

This created a huge imbalance in the economy as I just have a gold only example. Some did gold, motifs, gear, traits, etc.

They then logged on and grabbed traders cause they had more money than others for weeks and price gold and fixed the market. That impact remains even today. So the game on console has waaay more money than it should.

Now even worse on PC there was a guild bank bug that allowed ppl to dupe items and unlimited amount of times. Some accounts were caught but everyone wasn't so there was too much stuff in the market.

Consider this prior to the console copy.

That's why ppl have tons of gold now as this just went on for years now and it's exponential and residual impacts accross all platforms.

    Buy low, sell high

There's a lot of money to be made in overland set items right now. People not realizing what they have and selling low. Can't tell ya how many divines mother's sorrow, spinner, spriggan, soulshine etc pieces I've picked up for 1k or less. Then turn around and sell them for 10-20k.

I vendor all white and green loot (that's not a set with a good trait) and decon all blues and purples for mats. I put anything I don't need up for sale, even if it's something that only sells for a couple hundred gold. I also sell stacks of provisioning ingredients, sets of runes for enchanting and small batches of improvers.

It's not huge money but it adds up without feeling like a chore.

Laundering and selling stolen items on top of grinding mobs and selling the loot at vendor is fastest ways . The entry port near Alik'r is a good grind spot with vendor close by . Save any good set pieces you find and sell on guild trader .

I'm usually sitting on about 750K - 1 million gold. I make most my gold the same way I did before One Tamriel: by questing.

I grab every node I come across while I'm doing my thing, and I have a whole bunch of hirelings bringing me mats, but I keep what I get from that, I virtually never sell any of it.

Likewise, when I get gear sets I don't sell them on guild stores - I'll either hang on to them for possible future use (when you've got as many characters as I do, almost every set piece that you get falls into the "possible future use" category), or if I'm sure I'll never use them I'll decon them on the couple of characters I have who are still getting to level 50 in crafting skills (on my main account I now just have 2 characters who still need to get to Woodworking 50, and 1 that still needs to get to Blacksmithing 50, and then all 12 characters will be at 50/50/50 for the equipment crafting skills).

Most of my gold comes from quest rewards and selling vendor trash to vendors. The vendor trash portion (which is most of it) has been lower than normal lately since I started working on getting my 4 newer characters up to 50/50/50 in the equipment crafting skills, because I've been deconstructing everything. It's back on the increase though, because I'm now back to vendoring all light and medium drops I get (aside from the ones I decide to keep).

Another thing that I do periodically to gain gold is that every now and then when I've built up a large supply of provisioning mats (thanks primarily to all my hirelings), I'll have my provisioner craft a ton of food and drinks, and then just vendor it all. Depending on how recently it's been since the last time I did that, I usually end up making about 70-150K.

^This.^ I found a ring of transmutation for 30k and sold it for 125k. Bought a plague doctors mace sharpened for 500 gold, sold it for 25k. I made most of my money from farming the spriggan set for myself. I amassed 3 sharp daggers, 1 sharp axe, 7 sharp bows, 1 sharp maul/greatsword, 6 purple rings 3 necks, and the armor in impen and divines sells for 10k usually. sharp bows sell for around 75-100k depending on what the other listings are.

The sharp spriggan weapons sell for 300-400k easy
