Best race for a stamsorc tank

For both PvP and Endgame PvE.
My guess is a nord. So, which race is the best as a true tank.

Redguard

Redgaurd, no better race for stamina. Max stam, regen and adrenaline rush. Just run Blackrose and you can now block forever! (PvP)

For a true tank it's definitely Imperial. But if you want to add PvP to it I would still go with Redguard. It's still a very good race to tank any content with it.

Imperial

Stamsorc tank and you'd be missing out on Hardened/ Empowered Ward, though. You can be practically unkilable with either of those and decent regen/ constition bonus. My magsorc tank has a 12K empowered ward to break before you even get to him (defensively capped and 85/85 hardy/ elemental too).

But to answer your question, if you're dogged and determined to play that combo: Imperial.

Nord

True tank. Only one race has reduced incoming damage. I would pick a Nord.

Orc

Redguard is good for standing his ground, Imperial too. But as someone who has a StamSorc Orc, I choose that race for the racial passives in extra heals, health/stam and the extra 10% mobility stacks with Hurricane's 10% run speed to give me a way to get not-Major Expedition.

But I'm a person that really loves having mobility options in PvP. I pop Hurricane and I'm off and running. PvE my Orc has solo'ed normal or Fungal Grotto 1 with TBS gear.

Nord

Nord is the best tank max health elemental resist health regen max stam and reduced damage %6 its the best no need to argue.

Redguard

Redguard, Imperial, and Nord are all good choices for a Stam-Sorc that you want to also use for Tanking. Each have advantages and disadvantages.

I give the edge to the Redguard for your purpose because Adrenaline lets you have more gear choices.

A Nord with Engine Guardian would also be a fine choice if *all* you want to do is Tank.

Imperial will have the most health and stamina, but there are not very many advantages for a Sorc on a high health build IMO.

Imperial. Cause the damage reduction from nord isnt as good as you think, and redguards stam regen is a waste when blocking.

I was gonna pick Argonian but you didnt put it there.

Lots of health poison resist, drinking potion gives 12% stats and most imprtantly all the healing you get from self heals and group heals

Most tank i know switch from imperial to red guard so i would say red guard is master race for tanking as it have a lot of sustain.

Forget about Sorc, and make DK. Why? other classes makes stuff more difficult, cant pull, no igneus wep. All I can admit u have that skill similar to talons, thats something, still uncomparable. If u really wanna play Sorc as a tank I recommend Breton, and doing it in magica way.

I know, but I have made many Bretons of each class but not a tank version of sorcerer nor a stamina version of it.

Lol @ all the ppl saying imperial, it's one of the worst picks next to nord, the red diamond skill is worthless just like that 6% dr. Argonians make the best tanks, their passive actually is important.

Imperials more health is technically more stamina as you need to spec less into health and more into stamina. Then you have your stamina bonus on top of that. Nobody here is talking about red diamond. It is all about the resources. And since almost everything in this game scales with your max stat pools argonians passives with the potions or the healing are not at all better than the extended pools of an imperial.

Bigger stam pool -> bigger vigor heals in pve and pvp, more damage output in pvp.
Bigger health pool -> More scalable armor ratings, more room for role versatility.

I won't say argonian is nota valid choice for a tank, but it is by a clear mile not the best. Also OP wants to do PVP as well.

You all over estimate the benefits of large resource pools, Argonians get 10% more out of vigor due to passives and get tri stats from all pots.

So 3% less hp than Imperial(9 vs 12) and 10% less stam.

Remember as a tank only damage scales with resources and damage is not your focus so that 10% isn't adding much.

I voted Orc because of their speed and brutality in PVP, and overall versatility, but Imperial seems best from a min/maxing standpoint.

RedG isnt needed at all for tanking - and stam sorc doesnt need a large stam pool whatsoever (further diminishing redG).

Stam sorc can tank pretty unique with dark deal and just manage mag regen to cover all block costs. Ultimately you can go with any of the above. Id just go orc or imperial personally if you wanted to dedicate at tank.

I feel like for the jack of all trades build Orc is your best bet. High mobility which plays well with the class, great regen, bonus to health and stamina, bonus to weapon damage, bonus to healing received. It just plays well whether you're doing pvp or pve. For the jack of all trades I actually prefer this to Imperial.
