Is it possible to Switch your characters to another platform?

I am not sure if this has been asked before, but if it has please paste the link!

If I wanted to Switch over onto another platform from PS4 to PC, is it possible to carry my characters from PS4 to PC?

I will be getting a new PC for Mass Effect Andromeda (Bioware games are more fun on PC

) which means massive Graphics upgrade for me, and a platform change for a while..

So is it Possible?

You can't even switch megaservers (EU -> NA), so nope, you can't switch platforms. The only time they allowed this was in the beginning to allow PC players to go to console.

It really does suck

I'm moving country so wanted to swap my megaserver. Lag is bad enough in Cyro already without playing from the other side of the world. They wouldn't even consider letting me do that.
But hey, they said I was allowed to create a new character on NA and begin from scratch. So there's that at least. Le sigh

OK well moving Country, they should allow you to move your characters over... being forced to make a character from scratch because your in another area... that really does suck ): I feel sorry for you... and all your bank gear and stuff gone too!

I think they did it because the console release was delayed or something, so it was a special case. They allowed people to buy and play on the PC then transfer when the console version came out.

Yep. I think the part that worries me the most is all the CP I accumulated and crafting research. I won't be doing that again, so will most likely just quit the game. I'm not starting over again just because I have to move country for work.

They've said and wrote that it was due to the delayed launch and it would be a one time limited offer
Also considering this requires the whole account to be copied it would be very expensive now cause the price would consider all the crown content that the new platform wouldn't get or they'd just exclude crown purchases which would make more ppl upset.

Say if you have friends that play on different platforms, or you decide to switch from Xbox to PS4, it'd be nice to continue where you left off, rather than starting anew.

I'm sure there's reasons we can't but it would be nice

PC to console transfer was a special case. They delayed the console release so they told people who wanted to play on console that they could start on PC and switch later.
This transfer was done BEFORE the console servers went live.

I think the main issuebis that they do not have the process in place to switch a character from one server or platform to another.

I don't know how this works in other games. Is the character deleted from server A and created in server B? What happens to guild associations? How about stuff that's in your bank?

Not only that, but you have to unlock different stuff separately on each of the two servers on the same platform: pets, mounts, DLCs. That's the part that sucks the most. IMO at least those should be linked to account, not server.

Some games do that. Most newer MOBAs allow you to play your character on PC or Console. It's basically saved no matter where you log in from. MMOs don't seem to have this option, so there must be some technical reason behind it.

I'm trying to imagine the ETL nightmare it would be to try and synch 6 different database servers on a live basis and I'm coming up short.
