As an alternative, you can create a weapon damage 5-second enchant (with Okori Essence Rune) that would work on your two-handed sword or maul.

I agree with with your logic ... it can sometimes be confusing on the types of glyphs and their naming convention.

this is the weapon glyphs , i got on both of my weapon both have the same recipe using kuta,okori ,repora one give 320 on my high quality sword and other give 348 on my cheaper purple sword oO???,
maybe because one is a mace two handed and the other a sword two handed , if i'm correct it matters with the two hander skills passive called Heavy weapons where swords do 5 % more damage , this if you took the passive off course
I can be wrong but it's the only logical explaination i have
