Dungeons change based on Player amount etc?

So I've been running solo vDungeons and usually skip treasure chests. Yes I know I shouldn't, and im trying to not to lol. So this last run I searched high and low but only found one simple chest - no set gear.

But I've read there should be more chests? 2-3 I just read should be in there? Because im solo is that why I only found one? More players mean more chests?

And while I'm at it I noticed something odd about v Fungal Grotto.

On the last boss, the Dreugh King or whatever. So I was being lazy and got killed, during the first battle the King would preform this massive AoE pretty consistently. I stopped paying attention and died.

The second battle (mind you I did not leave, or change anything) the King did not even Once preform that same attack. Is it because I died he stopped using the move? Like a decrease in difficulty because I died? - just curious.

    OK, the new dropped set items and the Plunder Skulls for Witches Festival event drop from Bosses (delve, world, group, dolmen etc).

    However, we have always had Treasure chests that spawn in Delves. There are usually several spawn points in a delve, I knew of a small one that had 10 places to spawn a chest. However those spawns are random.

    Now do the chest respawn rates increase with more players in the delve? No, not that I can see anyway. I was running one delve quite a bit farming warlock rings back in the day. It was a small delve, the one I talked about above. I would see the chests spawn randomly as I went through the dungeon, and it would be anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes between spawns. Other players or no players, had no impact on this, but of course I would get more if I was in there by myself.

    Which means during the farm fest we have now, your not going to find too many chests in the Delves as there are so many players in there. Spawn rate is too slow. Once it calms down, you will find more chests.

    As for your group experience, sometimes you can burn the boss down before they initiate their mechanics. Call that a good thing.

    And, further note, if your in a group dungeon and do find a Treasure Chest, or Heavy Bag, all members of the group can take stuff from those containers. Of course only one has to unlock the chest, but then all group members can get their shineys.

    @Nestor thanks for the help. Very useful info, but kinda missed one main point.

    I thought all Dungeons (not Delves) have set heavy sacks, chests etc... like not random (or maybe location changes but always a fixed number of them)

    I was wondering if because I entered the dungeon (in this case vBanished Cells) alone, that not all of the chests appear?

    That a 4 man group would have more chests spawned in that dungeon than in a solo run?

    Holy cow @Waffennacht - just out of curiosity: how long does it take you to solo a group dungeon?

    personally, I suffer from LDO (low damage output)...I might not die from going in one of those group dungeons - but, I think it would take me days to kill some of those bosses...

    also wondering (I imagine I'll never find the answer out myself) - how does soloing a group dungeon compare to doing vma?

    any group dungeon which may be a little easier to solo than the others?

    Depends on the dungeon @geonsocal but for Banished Cells approximately 30 minutes. Some longer.

    Compared to vMA, IMO, vMA is harder than the dungeons. vMA has dps choke points and mechanics that dungeons don't have.

    For example, there is a dungeon where a whisperer auto holds you in the air while feast orbs heal her, as long as you do even a small amount of damage over the heals, you'll win. In vMA there is nothing like that, the longer you take the more you're punished. So you always gotta be ontop of your game.

    Also, absolutely some dungeons are easier than others.

    Imo blessed crucible and fungal grotto and elden hollow are all easier than banished cells,. While Tempest island is more difficult than banished, (Tempest was pre 1T though, haven't done it after 1T yet)

    thanks...you've inspired me to give 'ol fungal grotto a try solo...I'm a bit of a creeper going through dungeons (not that I'm a creepy guy - i just like to go slow and take my time when I'm doing it...hmmmm, hope that didn't sound too creepy)...

    I enjoy reading threads from some of the top tier eso players (yourself, @Ch4mpTW, some others)...it demonstrates what's possible and sets a good goal to try to achieve...

    I did answer it, but it was buried in the wall of text that I produced. And the answer was not super clear to begin with. Reason, to me, Dungeon and Delve are interchangeable. I mix them up all the time. I use the term Group to denote Group instances. But, everything I said applies to Group, Public, Solo and Instanced Delves/Dungeons.

    Yes, the Chests and Heavy Sacks are always going to spawn in the exact same places, but when they spawn is purely RNG. Someone was mapping out all the spawn locations a while back, but I can't find the website now, perhaps that project was abandoned when ZOS overhauled all the Dungeons in the game. But I do remember a surprisingly large number of spawn points mapped, as when ever I ran a dungeon, I would see one or two most times, three on a good day. As for Group Dungeons specifically, I never noticed all that many Chests, but they would always be in the same places. Perhaps they reduced the spawn points when the chests became group enabled.

    Some Heavy Sack spawn points can happen quite quickly, so they appear to be on a different timer scheme than the Treasure Chests.

    That is an interesting question. I know I have seen Chests/Sacks in Solo Dungeons spawn right in front of me or while I was standing there, and there was one dungeon that I was lapping every 12 minutes (timed it) where I would see some chests spawn every lap, some spawn every two or three laps. But, those are dungeons that respawn the mobs. Group dungeons, as you know, don't respawn mobs once you clear them. So, does the respawn mechanic work the same way.

    Hmm, have to clear a Group Instance and run around looking in it to see.
