Ive got 50 blacksmithing and all traits researched etc, pretty much a full fledged crafter/smith, altho I never rly got into writs, but ive been trying last couple of days, but the rewards im getting for crafting rubedite equipment is like grand repair kits, iron dagger and iron ingots, what am I doing wrong? If thats the standard of writ rewards im not gonna do a single writ again and Ill consider the time ive spent doing writs so far...wasted.

It's RNG with writs. The real reason you do writs is for the Gold Mats and Surveys. Gold Mat drop rate is about 1/3 and survey drop rate is less than that. The survey drop rate is a noticeable nerf this patch (or my RNG just sucks). The flipside is that the surveys do drop more raw mats now.
Writs used to be a no-brainer to do. They gave far more than they required (not counting time). The margins are definitely a lot thinner these days. I do 4-6 writs on 7 toons (depending on the day). It is still worth it IMO with the price of gold mats. That being said, if you are only doing one a day, your sample size is pretty small. I could see getting a run of bad RNG and wondering why the hell you are bothering. The more you do, the more even the RNG will be.
