No. Just no. That's doing things wrong even WHEN you respect the node code. There are better ways of telling who's botting and who isn't. Just because someone TRIES to steal your node doesn't make them a bot. That's an abuse to the reporting system and they do state when you report them as such that abusing the feature is a no no. Instead, call them out in zone. The more people that speak out against node thieves, the better Craglorn can be. Also, back people up when they call out node thieves because that whole attitude of "lol the node ain't urz" is astoundingly common.

With that part out of the way and addressing the issue as a whole, it's a stupid situation. It's the wild west all over again in Craglorn. Instead of just having it limited to Upper Craglorn, it's all over the freaking place.

Its not mentality its a fact they are bots they act stupid they dont answer and they follow same patterns but the best clue is they trying to grab the nod while nod being harvested by another person.

The other day someone took the node I died trying to get. I was standing over it waiting till I was corporeal again and that jerkface took it lol. I fumed for a moment to myself then just farmed more to make myself feel better. You can't take it too seriously, if given the chance more people take the chance to be advantageous with disregard to others feelings, its just human nature.

idk, remember someone cussing me out in whispers because i harvested a rune they were after. I was at the run well before them even though they cut through mobs to try to beat me.

Even if they beat me they would not have been able to harvest it since they were in combat due to the short cut they took.

I just laughed it off.

This is why I take my stam sorc harvesting, so I can zoom around the map collecting everything before any one else does. I think we can all agree that, while One Tamriel is an impressive update, it has made everyone even more greedy than before. Just look at Dolmens and world bosses. It's an absolute mess.

If I run up to a node while you are harvesting it, that means I don't SEE YOU. You haven't loaded for me yet.

Why must YOU act so entitled to the node that i got to first? You don't own Craglorn besides as was already said there are TONS of nodes elsewhere go get those. This one is MINE.

It will be one of two things, a bot mindlessly carrying out its instructions or more likely just another idiot who has to win even the most pointless race, if you want nirn just keep grinding out writs till you get surveys in craglorn, then the little buggers can't touch it

You can't prove that they're bots if they 'don't answer'. Following the same patterns is one thing, however not everyone is going to answer your whisper. And if you abuse it, there goes your account. It IS a mentality. That since they don't answer, they must be bots. That's faulty deductive reasoning there. Report the ones you're SURE of that are botting. But just because they run up to your node? Nah. I won't agree to that. That's a huge reason WHY people don't respect the node code.

This system has been a needless source of conflict and ill will from the beginning. Heat without light is poor design.

Resource nodes should be instanced to each player and put on a long regeneration timer. I believe Guild Wars 2 handles it this way.

Competition should be about more than flowers.

Had a whole rant about this typed in and decided it's just not worth it - at the end of the day, you gained a couple of crafting mats that I won't even miss in the long run; I gained the knowledge that you're an obnoxious idiot. I win.

Competing for nodes is just as kiddish as it gets. And the same goes for chests. But that is not the problem in its entirety. The problem is those a r s e h o l e s who open the chests/ nodes, take out what they want leave the junk in there. This make me rage.

sadly the mmo community's mindset has changed. It has devolved from being helpful and fun to being self centered and filled with greed. I still try to help those i can but after so long of dealing with moronic trolls it kind of kills the will to help anyone. When gathering i will actually fight mobs near the item so the person who was trying to get it could harvest the item. But that is just me, i know many many people who would go out of their way just to crew someone over for their own gain or laugh, and frankly it is sickening what the community (in any game be it mmo or multiplayer) has become.
