Coordinated group PvP left this game long time ago. You guys a fighting a battle that's been over for a year, congrats on all your hard work.
It's definitely a little discouraging when all of your coordination and planning means nothing in the face of just a massive zerg of enemies. I look to the little things honestly. I enjoy the company of the people I play with and that's really the only thing I care about at this point. All of the bad parts of this game you can really just laugh off because of the ridiculousness of it all.
Going to BDO was probably the best experience with me since I got to play with a great group of players. I went with some of the top ESO PvPers at the time(and some from ESO past), and we merged with another guild of top players from another game. We ended up dominating, but being zerged by 150+ players in that game is a real thing not even exaggerating. Add in the RNG factor of the game, the other players we merged with were used to this and really I learned from them how absolutely pointless it is to get upset about things like that. Better to not give a ***, laugh about everything, and meme hard.
Did BDO have an AOE Cap? Just curious....
BDO handles each spell differently. Each spell has a specific amount of targets it can hit. Spell A may only hit 5 targets, and Spell B may not have a cap at all. Every skill is AOE in the sense that, if there are more than one target right in front of you your attack hits all of them up to that skill's specific aoe cap. Most (if not all) skills also hit multiple times. Spell A only lets you hit 5 players, but it hits 5 times so technically you can hit up to 25 people if RNG decides to tag each of the 25 people hit once, or you can hit 5 players 5 times. This also works against dodge chance as a player may end up only dodging 2 of the 5 ticks of damage. In essence... in BDO you don't ball up because you'll get instawiped by like 2-3 mages even if there's 100 of you.
