So I made a stam sorc a few days ago

Im using hurricane, veil of blades, crit surge for your standard aoe set up. I was using whirlwind as an execute on a boss and got booted for "using the wrong skills".
Is there something drastically wrong about this or was he just being a ***? It's hard to tell because the other dps stopped during the fight to type a complaint and wiped everyone with 20% boss hp left. So should I use 2h on my back bar for bosses? is 100% dmg under 50% not good enough? I mean it does hit over 10k for 700 stam.

Currently running red mountain and briarheart, going to switch briar for widowmaker.

    Flying bosses I'm not sure, I'd need to try it tbh. There aren't many always flying bosses but in those cases swap it out of it doesn't work.

    BA stam bonus is 8% not 5% once at level 4 and yeah having this on both bars is a big dps boost. Your damage scales off your stam so this is a great boost but obviously need it on both bars.

    No one should kick anyone for that, or practically any reason except for crass behavior.

    Generally you never use an AOE skill for a finisher, even if it is an execute skill.

    Here is a bar and rotation from Deltia:
    • Steel Tornado (AoE Direct Damage | morph of Whirlwind) – Our main spammable when there are 4 or more targets up. This thing covers a large radius, and gains execute damage twice on targets under 25% health. You may swap this to Deadly Cloak on cleave/single target fights that have a lot of incoming AoE damage.
    • Rending Slash (Single Target DoT | morph of Twin Slashes) – A strong hitting Damage over Time effect (DoT), and a minor snare. Use this on single target fights or apply when there are 3 or less enemies to fight. This can be empowered by the Cruel Flurry Enchant.
    • Rapid Strikes (Single Target Channel | morph of Flurry) – Our main single target spammable attack that gives the next damage ability a massive 2100 increase in weapon damage when used with the Maelstrom Daggers. The goal here is to be weaving a light attack, Rapid Strikes, light attack THEN a DoT (Trap Beast, Poison Injection, and or Rending Slash). The added benefit of casting the DoT makes it a must to constantly weave in between.
    • Bound Armaments (Self Buff | morph of Bound Armor) – A source of Minor Resolve (2% Physical Resistance), 2% Weapon Damage, 11% increased Heavy Attack damage, 8% Max Stamina, and 20% Health and Stamina Regeneration. Since it is a toggle, make sure it’s active, and on both bars.
    • Hurricane (Self Buff + AoE | morph of Lightning Form) – The centerpiece of the Stamina Sorcerer class. This gives us our Major Resistances (8% damage reduction), Minor Expedition (10% movement speed), and an AoE DoT that ramps up in size and damage over time. Since it gets stronger the longer it’s left up, try not to recast this before it’s done. This is hard to master, and it’s why it’s on our main bar.
    • [Ultimate] Rend (AoE DoT + HoT | morph of Lacerate) – The Dual Wield weapon ultimate, morphed for bonus duration. This thing is an absolute monster on single target/cleave fights, especially when Empowered by the Cruel Flurry enchant. On top of a 16 second DoT that can be empowered, it also heals for ~70% of the damage per tick, multiplied by how many targets it hit. This means in AoE situations, you are practically invincible due to the amount of healing you’ll be gaining. This can be empowered by the Cruel Flurry Enchant.

    The front bar set up from @OldGamerESO is spot on although I'd put hurracaine on the back bar and replace with rearming trap for dps boost.
    you also mention having a two handed, I'd stay away from this in PVE. Ideally dual wield set up from above plus bow on back bar is ideal.
    Skill wise for this,
    endless hail,
    poison injection
    Hurracaine
    Crit surge
    BA
    Flawless DB ultimate - don't use just for weapon damage boost.

    For gear I'd also say you could change it a bit.

    Twice born star is a great set up, night mothers gaze is great and hundings rage works as well. I'm trying Spriggans which is good for solo/4man as well.
    If you have/can get viscous Ophidian as well.
    I run 5 piece twice born star and 3 piece VO (Jewlery) Kragh Monsetr set with 1 sharpened leki dagger/axe
    If you don't have VO agility jewlerry would be good replacement and I like using Stormfist monster set instead of Kragh but that's a dps loss just looks cool AF!

    Yeah seems like bow then. So what execute should I be using as dw?

    I use rearming trap on my back bar but I want to replace it asap with stalwart guard so both dps can have it constantly. I hate that bosses/flying don't trigger the trap.

    I tried running iceheart with it, definitely upped my survivability but velidreth is too sexy with the 20k crits

    I doubt that those sets would up my damage since im based on lower dmg constantly procing higher damage.

    If anything wouldn't you get more out of automaton/briarheart upping your dmg by 800?

    VO looks nice but did the fix the bug with the 5% dmg?

    As stam sorc you don't really have an execute so don't expect a mages wrath, Jesus beam or killers blade execute numbers.

    Stam sorc rotation isn't the most complex because of this so when you get into that range keep your rotation going I.e Keep hail/poison injection going, rending slashes and keep hitting rapid strikes.

    I'd stay away from replacing trap with guard as this takes up 2 slots and when you add in bound armaments that's 4 slots for 2 skills which doesn't make sense.

    Although bosses won't be immobilised by the trap them stepping on it will still trigger the minor force which is the main thing along with the DOT.

    As far as I'm aware the minor slayer has been fixed for VO.

    Not sure you should get too hung up on weapon damage as it's more important for high penetration especially in solo/4man PVE content. My weapon damage is 3.7k with crit surge but still feel like I get a good damage.

    Velidreth is still a great set as well so if that works keep it.

    @FeaR Turbo has a really good build you should check on Tamriel Foundry. I've used this as a template for my build and haven't had any dps issues.

    It needs to be double slotted, it also gives you the 20% regen boost via passives. It doesn't "have" to be double slotted, but to keep the bonus it needs to be
