I recently got a Maelstrom bow for my Stam Sorc. I've heard that it "doesn't work?"

Like a lot of players, I drop an endless hail, and then bar swap to my dual wield. I've heard that this renders the enchantment completely useless as I am on the "wrong" bar when endless hail is ticking. Is this correct? Why the heck did I work so hard for that then

Nerdman9✭✭I've never heard this. Mine has always continued working after bar swapping. Only thing that won't carry over is the trait. So if your bow is infused, when you bar swap you won't get the bonus from the infused trait on your other bar. But the enchantment will. Definitely use it.1

reesenorman✭✭✭I feel like you may have heard it wrongly, the enchantment still works when you bar swap but the trait will not depending on what it is. From my understanding the only two traits that keep working after you bar swap are Precise and Sharpener.Mundus Core

Well trait does somehow matter. You are right with infused but for some weird reason hail ticks higher if you use a sharpend bow. At least it worked that way the last few patches idk if it still works this way.

Yeah that's true, Ive heard that sharpened is the only one that carries over but I've never gotten one to test with so I can't confirm that myself. Thanks for reminding me of that.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭It works, but if you have an Infused bow, then switch to a different bar, the bow won't keep the infused trait (extra damage per tick). So you're basically getting the same damage tooltip as Sharpened, but you don't get the sharpened benefits.
If you have a Sharpened one, then no problem!0
