Recent PvP primer or tips?

So I am level 6 in pvp but that's since PS4 launch, I almost never PvP but I want to get some skill points and that's my only avenue left.

I wanted to know if anyone had a recent primer or some good tips that would help me quickly find conflicts to raise AP and maybe things I should buy for seiges that will help me get AP.

Besides racial choices do any items increase AP/rank gain? I know Grand Overlord takes forever, but I would really like to accelerate my rank gain as much as possible.

Well if you focus more on being a good pvp'er, ap will come to you and you will have fun. But if you just want to know ways to make ap, being a magic user helps. Also sticking to zergs, fixing walls, casting rapid regen in middle of zergy battles. Also, a BIG one is using oils when the enemy breaches your inner walls. AP will stack like crazy if there are friendlies fighting downstairs, finishing off people your oils have burned.

I mean the best way to do it is carve out a role for yourself in a PvP group and go to a campaign with a group of skilled PvPers that has no bars for your faction and more bars of the other 2 factions and farm them.
