in One Tamriel, what's the easiest class to solo level with from 1 to 50?

While some MMO players frown on it, we can all admit that Solo PVE is a major part of Elder Scrolls Online. I would wager that PVE players are also a major part of the cashflow from the store.

So, now we have One Tamriel, with a fairly fixed difficulty level that you cannot "out level" except by using specialised gear sets or Champion Points (Which won't be present in the initial character run from 1 to 50).

For new players, what would be the easiest class to level solo with through the quest and delve contents of the game?

My initial thought was a pet based Magicka Sorcerer. The pet will tank for the player in some instances, and give them some time to think. They have effective Sorcerer class abilities for damage early on, and the pet heal when things go bad. A combination of Mages Fury, Crystal Fragments and then the armor and shields should help with survival.

Builds can be found from early levels straight up through to 50 that are effective, and perhaps the shields can mask any gear deficiencies that a player may have while levelling waiting for those pieces to drop. Being able to hang back and use heavy attacks to regenerate Magicka should make resource use manageable in the early levels as well.

Problem is the Clannfear only tanks one mob at a time, and you can get groups of three, so it isn't like say a World of Warcraft hunter or a Guild Wars 2 Ranger where the pet can really take on multiple opponents for you. If the pet dies and a boss focuses on the player, they may find themselves in trouble especially if they have gone down a Light Armor, high damage path.

All in all , though, the Pet magicka sorcerer should be a good option for beginning players.

What are your own thoughts on the rise to 50?

Pet sorc is alright but it'll be slow going, and you'll be hurting until you unlock Hardened Ward or Annulment. Magic Templar would probably be better, start off with Puncturing Sweeps and you can spam it straight to 50. Since your main heal and damage skills are all class skills, you can freely swap between weapons to level each skill line.

I actually just started a magica Templar with the new halloween update and as I'm nearing 45, I can say its been alot of fun to play. You can also level it quite easily without using a whole lot of skill points, so you can wait til 50 to really decide in what direction you want to go in.

It's got good killing power and great surviveability.

I know a person who level up his character with his bare hands, so it's just no matter which class you play and level. I will recommend carefully choose you class for future game.

Mag NB is good too starting with funnel health. Or even dk with whips and burning embers. Essentially all magicka classes are relatively easy for beginners.

I have an AoE magicka sorc that has an amazing self heal when he crits, although I think you get that heal later on. I remember I started him as a pet sorc, but ditched the pets once I got the crit heal.

Magplar - Puncturing Sweep on slot 1....don't really require anything else for solo leveling to be honest. Maybe Blazing Spear on slot 2 if you want things to die quicker.

Another vote for magplar, but in reality all of the class combos are pretty easy to level from 0 to 50 in a few days, (around 12 - 15 hours if you're not pushing it.)

Wow. I totally did not expect it to be so unanimous. I thought the Dragonknight would have had a spot, it seems to have strong self-armor/shield and great damage with the flame dots.

Magicka Templar without a doubt. Not very fun, but 1 button can carry you through the entire game.

Either magicka templar or pet sorcerer. You won't have much trouble, if any trouble at all.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Mag nb is the fastest. Cheap and reliable skills and heals and with cloak you can clear delves by just cloaking all the way to the boss and skyshard without getting taged by adds. Also mag nb can easily sustain and can stay dps in range unlike mag temp that you need to be in their faces most the time if you use sweep.

Magplar is easiest to level, but, unless you plan on healing or pvp, not much fun later.

Magic sorc is is also quite easy especially using Clannfear to heal and tank also Encase to keep most NPC at a distance.
