Burning Spellweave & Silks of the Sun

Which one is actually better for end-game PvE content for a MagDK? I've been using Sills of the Sun recently, and had tons of success with it on my Dunmer MagDK. However, I keep having a feeling that Burning Spellweave may offer things that Silks can't in terms of higher damage. Plus, I believe Deltia suggested it in 1 of his videos. Is it worth it to farm and replace Silks of the Sun with, or just keep using Silks?

Burning Spellweave

It has better 2,3&4 pc bonuses than Silks, and in the case of a Mag DK, who has nothing but Fire attacks, you have almost constant uptime on the 5pc bonus from Spellweave

I like it. Silks only gives you extra damage to your flame abilities. The Spellweave SD works on ALL your abilities so heals + ultimates etc. Been having a ton of fun in PvP with it.

Its more like 65% uptime with cooldown + proc chance. Unless the burning adds that much to it the stiff stats of other sets might be better.

Spell weave is beast. Procs off grothdarr every time. Whip goes to 14.7k (double tool tip) it's immensely powerful. Use it with aether and you'll be at 3400 damage buffed without spc etc. Epic set and it looks pretty good too with the legs being a skirt.

Why not just use both? I'm grinding up my mag DK right now and plan on running silks, burning spellweave, and either 2 pc skoria (already have light and med in gold), grothdarr, or maybe illambris.

It has a max uptime of 67% on paper. 65% is probably a touch high for what is realistic, but a DK will keep it up as well as anyone. my sorc is usually in the mid 50's (I have gone away from it on sorc) and my DK is right around 60% on average.

I actually run the 5th piece via my staff, so I might have a touch higher uptime if I went with 5 armor pieces. I dont do that, however, because I like to run either an infal or moondancer staff on the back bar for either the 5 piece AOE bonus from infal or the spell damage from moondancer on single target. Both make for very potent combos.

You would have to drop Grorthdarr, and Grothadarr is pretty darn OP at the moment. You would also lose minor slayer from Infal or Moondancer, which again, you dont want to do. Silks of Sun is pretty underwhelming in PVE.

I currently run Silks and Elf Bane. Old Spellweave wasn't so great but I'd like to try the new version.

I'm doing a proc build with it like PVP players did with Alchemy. Allows you to keep a undaunted set. Buff bar the burning spell weave fire staff + jewelry & 1 body piece. Every other blockade of Fire application it procs (16s). Front bar would be user choice Julionous , scathing , silks whatever the buff carries over . I'm on PS4 so I have no idea any #s , other that it's different and doesn't require trials , and not cookie cutter. I have 3 magic end games so different can be fun. Just another idea you can consider

Just farm it champ. It's epic. The banekin boss in Coa 1 also drops a unique ring.

Off topic, but- How does BSW compare to other potential BiS options such as Julianos and TBS? I know there was a discussion on it in another thread, but what is the general consensus?
