I really love the design of the Khajiit motif style for armor, but I'm seriously having an issue with a couple things.

1) The floating elbow pads. There is nothing that's supporting them, and therefor are just floating around.
2) The waist armor on the sides. Whenever my character runs they seem to be floating around.

I also think that the outfit looks better without the extra armor on the waist side.

Completely agree. Their positioning is done so bad, it ruins the armor.

Tassets are sadly nearly omnipresent on most Motifs--that's why my main currently wears Breton robes.

It does look terrible on robes.

I have to agree with you on this, I think that the arms need to be fixed where they don't have elbow pads and fix the sides too because it looks horrible, I also think that the light khajiit helms could look better too, I personally think they look awful as heck.
I have been a member of ESO since April 4th 2014 but didn't get a code until recently when I asked.
My @ name on ESO is the same as on here.

Yeah, my main wore Breton Robes for the longest time, too. They have a convenient little pouch instead! My characters are now wearing outfits only, because of all the mismatched dropped sets, though (at least my Altmer Hero costume also has a convenient little pouch).
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Apropos the saddlebags on so many old armor motifs I noticed last night that Haskill has a little fanny pack on his hip. It looks like it'd hold a Leatherman and some acorns.

This has been an issue raised about the khajiit light armor (and most light armor) since it's inception. The idiotic hip flaps and shoulder pads (which look rather like metal) on these light robes look completely out of place, have nothing supporting them, and really take what is otherwise a good looking robe and downgrade it.

Additionally, the elbow pads and knee pads on this armor (and most armor) likewise look completely ridiculous, especially with nothing supporting them as you mentioned. On the Khajiit motifs in particular, the pads just hover an inch or two off the elbows and knees (and three or four inches above the shoulders, in the case of the heavy armor).

I've always felt that these items should be toggled (like the helmets) or better yet just left off entirely, as they serve absolutely no purpose except to look out of place and awkward.

I agree, GhostwalkerLD. I see no reason to have tassets on robes. It makes no sense whatsoever. Robes are robes... not heavy armor.

Overall this style looks awesome. Just that the 2 extra unnecessary items is ruining the appearance of this outfit.

I also agree that the shoulder pads also needs to be worked on... or maybe removed as well.
