I know that it automatically blocks targets but it doesn't seem to block heavy attack knock backs on some bosses? Is it attentional or what?

For me its a bit like decoration, I can't really see it being on too many player's bars. It is exactly what I (personally) have come to expect from a purely defensive ability in ESO; a barely useful afterthought.

Anybody found a way to work in into your build?

The thing that made me lol is that you cannot use block while you are under "block all attacks" ulti effect. And that makes you vulnerable af. Also, morph with 6 sec projectile reflect is useless for any DK.

It does block everything, even the knockbacks. It's just that the entire ultimate feels... weird: when you activate it, you don't block, the Giant Shield auto blocks everything so no need to hold down block and it's hard to see when the ultimate ends (sometimes got unlucky and received a knockback right then)

I have the Spell Wall morph on my Sap Tank, and it does work rather well though since I don't need to hold block during those 6 secs. With Siphoning Attacks and Absorb Stamina Enchants, it gets me back to full stam

It doesn´t work properly on some occasions. Try final boss of Wayrest Sewers 1.

Got oneshot and knockbacked with running ultimate, even got knockbacked in the templar heal ultimate which should make you immune to all CC.

Try in Wayrest 1 you will see s/b ultimate doesn´t prevent knockback.

Had our hit-taker in Wayrest Sewer yesterday get knocked back whilst the Ultimate was active. They were not impressed and I can complete understand why. It's a shield ultimate, I think you should be immune to crowd control too whilst it's active, otherwise it's not really that useful.

Hopefully it's something that will be improved upon in future.
If you can be anything, be kind.

The shield ultimate is one of the most useless skills and definitive the most useless ultimate ever. I tried it a few times...welp...
As a tank, warhorn is way better and for defense the magma shell...

I love it in PVP but I do agree, once it run out there is 1 second where you are vulnerable to all CC if you don't block right away or hold block.

It has its uses but it really should block CC.

I use Spell Wall on my Templar tank, and it's far from useless (in PVP at least). This thing has saved my butt plenty of times, and helped me conserve stamina. I think calling it the most useless ultimate is a bit harsh. You're getting 7 seconds of free blocking and reflecting of both spell and physical projectiles for just 100 ultimate (85 if you're a sorc).

Still it doesn't block a simply dizzying swing. Before 1T you could't even hit a s&b char with that if not complete beginner lol.

Having this Ultimate while tanking the axes in vAA makes the fight one big step easier imo. So it definately is useable, but yeah it should block the cc (but for me in pve it did most of the time i think).

It does block the CC, just some of the new monster animations are broken AF even when regular blocking without the ultimate.
