Trying to make a tanky pyro mage DK, am I in for pain?
I'm going to have a hard time managing resources but i was thinking about doing a dunmer DK with swordboard/destro staff.
I'm not sure if i want to fit the tank or dps roll in dungeons, but in PvP i like the idea of being super tank and whittling down my opponents with fire.
Any suggestions? Maybe it would work if i did magicka tank because i don;t see how im going to be able to get enough stamina to block attacks.

✭✭✭✭✭Magicka DK is notoriously bad right now. Hold off until update 13 when they've said plenty of times their buffing it.2 -

If you want to play PvP tanky, go S&B both bars or resto on the back bar for more reliable heals. A lot of PvP mDK tanks are basically permablock builds; @DKsUnite has some builds posted you may want to look at.
Resource-wise, Seducer should provide enough magicka cost reduction and sustain if you manage your resources. Too much sustain for me in CP campaigns, actually; I almost never run out of resources and when I do it's generally my fault. I'm thinking of switching to Kags for a little extra damage.1 -

Trashkan✭✭✭Mag dk is a beast in pve i can pull 35k single target but pvp it's more of a support roll you want to come in after your group is engaged and bring down hell on earth!!!0

I main a light armor(primarily)/dual destro Dunmer mDK DPS character, and I really don't know where all the negativity comes from about them. I've done everything from PvP to vet trials to solo PvE play JUST fine on mine. Sustain is not bad, and survive-ability is really good in my opinion. That poor little elf can take one hell of a beating. I run 5 light, 1 heavy (helmet - skoria), 1 medium (shoulder - skoria) with Willpower jewelry (2x arcane, 1x healthy). I will tell you right now that the mDK is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, and is by far my favorite class to run. The upcoming buffs are just going to make it that much better.1 -

3.2k perma spell dam. 4k buffed. 1.7k mag reg.
Use the new witch receipe : Health/Mag/Mag regen.

You haven't pvp'd much lately, I take it? mDK is totally fine in PvE. It's only in a bad state in PvP. Unless you zerg... everything works in a zerg.
Right now in Update 12 a competent stam build running multiple proc sets can burst >20k against heavy armor with max resists. What that does against unshielded light armor I don't know, but I'm sure it's not pretty. Try to mist to the nearest LOS for a second to heal and they spam gap closers on you.0 -

Using broken builds as a means to demean an mDK's ability to be a functional class is not really the best way to prove your point. I play an mDK nearly every day, I know it's capabilities. It is NOT as bad as people make it out to be. It can actually put out a ton of DPS, and has plenty of survive-ability. The only thing that really hurts it right now is magicka cost on abilities could be better. The build you mention above is broken rather you run into it with a mDK, stamblade, stamsorc, etc. Some things just outshine everything else because, well, PvP balance sucks in this game.0 -
