Wayrest Sewers I last boss

Admittedly I am not a great tank, nevertheless, have always made it through vet dundeons pretty easily including Imperial City ones and the swamp ones. I have never been one-shotted before ... until the last boss in Wayrest I and it happened twice, with one hitting for 27k! The dungeon was finished but it was pretty embarrasing, so will need to review gear and set-up. Anyone else find this too? BTW, not asking for a nerf - just a question.

That boss hits pretty hard and randomly attacks group members even if you hold aggro. The DPS need to take some additional steps to survive his damage but it shouldn't oneshot the tank.

Were you blocking with a 1H+Shield when it happened? I was trying to solo this vet dungeon today and was fine up to the last boss. In Hard Mode she's brutal with her power attack hitting for 15k through block (with a staff and in light armor) plus all her other "regular" attacks that hit for 10-20k normally. In non-Hard Mode she hits a little lighter but puts out far too much DPS to solo for my Magplar build to handle.

Definitely a boss where you need a traditional tank .

Yeah - I get a tank shouldn't be one-shotted, hence this discussion - but as a magblade using shields I need to work out what to look out for before she does that big hit attack. She does a heavy attack which is easy to see and block; and a sort of half spin, also easy enough to counter. I guess it is that leaping attack that is the 20k+ one - is there anything that gives that away before she does it?

I think the boss is actually bugged. She does an attack where she teleports to a random player and hits them kinda hard... and then about half a second later another phantom 8-10k "bleed" damage goes off in one shot.

Not difficult to mitigate if you are expecting it, or if the healer is on point, but definitely capable of one shotting the unprepared.

Boss is really frustrating. We had a good tank and healer with us but it's just random where the boss goes.

Out of curiosity, why couldn't you have told me in a PM about it...? Why did you have to indirectly call me out, and call it cocky publicly? I would've taken your words to heart, and eased up a bit. I'd have been civilized and mature about it. Or, simply just place me on ignore if you dislike my posts so much. But, no. You choose to do what you did intentionally and for a very malicious reason. You had to make an example, and got praised for that outspoken example.

I merely said I haven't had an issues, and that I'd solo it. That's all. But, it's all good. If it had been something PvP-based, and it was constant talk about 1vX? Praise would be everywhere. But since it's not, it gets slammed constantly. I understand. Really. I do. And 6 upvotes for someone calling someone out like that? Yeah, I really see what's up with this community as a whole. All of the posts right and left about the toxicity of the community, and how experiences with others in the game are ruining people's enjoyment. I definitely see what's up.

Yeah, I'm not going to continue with that convo.

I think part of the problem many people are coming across is for so long we haven't needed a tank for a lot of dungeons. And now, I'm seeing people looking for tanks all the time. People are just used to burning the adds and going on their merry way. We can't do that anymore least with this boss.

Or maybe, people on the forums shouldn't call others out directly in public. Being as it's rude. The message function and ignore function is there for a reason. For handling things privately, and with as much avoided conflict as possible. And maybe the forums aren't for me, if it's so accepted to constantly take jabs at people publicly and belittle them. You might be right on that. Or rather not this forum, if ZOS is so lax on that type of confrontation between users.

Regardless, it is what it is. You did what you did, and stand by it. That's fine. That's what's up. I understand. "It's the Internet, and so you must not take anything to heart and seriously. Treat anyone however you want, so long as it's just barely not crossing the line of the rules." Yes, yes. I get it. The new generation of gamers mentality. Yep. Have a good weekend, bruh. =\

Maybe you could offer the OP some advice on it.
I would like to help, but although I made a tank character I ended up not taking her to dungeons because I don't find the role to be fun.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

The original comment was made because your comment was very self congratulatory and condescending to the OP which many people also find rude. Was it intentionally made to be so? Probably not. But you have made numerous posts about soloing vet dungeons and world bosses since 1T hit, so someone called you out on it. And instead of playing it off, you pretty much snapped at him/her.

And in response to another post you made suggesting that people praise 1vXers over soloing vet dungeons... I pretty much think that public 1vXers in pvp also have an extremely inflated sense of self importance, because they are built in essentially, "run really fast and dodge everything until one or two weak *** catch up to eat a dawnbreaker or 3 procs and die, then repeat." I mean sure. It sounds impressive when you say that you took on a zerg by yourself, but you really didn't. The thing about X is that X can be one really good player and just wipe the floor with you. Owning 5 complete noobs doesn't make you a god.

Anyway, just relax and remember that people don't like bragging unless it perhaps comes with useful tips on mechanics or whatever.

Nah, as a DPS first time through Vet WS 1, i died once. The final boss did one shot me, but the one death was enough to make me more adamant about popping resolving vigor during the fight on top of the healer healing us.

    Was EZ PZ after that.

For Tank you can always block, i never died once while Tanking and if tank can debuff boss, dps would not have to kill either.

In one of my toon turn, we had a fake tank (dps queued as tank), this boss was hitting like 61K and too many times everyone was dying but somehow we were able to kill boss..

Spineclutch 1 Vet final boss also hit very hard and without tank can make sometime impossible..

@Ch4mpTW we all know that you are a awesome player, but your "Look at me I'm awesome" posts are getting a bit tiring. A bit of humility and trying to actually teach others would be far more impressive.

Understood, and well received. I appreciate you being kind about it, and respectful. You have my word that I'll avoid rather boastful posts from now on. :)
