What's is champion points

So I have recently just hit 50 and I'm what wondering whAt is champion point and what should I put the points into

is like a next leveling phase but its account wide, gives you slight buffs in each level and rather quickly to level up
buffs to damage/healing/ tanking.. debuffing, penetration and such

Open the inventory, at the top of the screen there will be a row of grey icons, mouse over them to find the champion section, after that it's a pretty simple buff wheel

Google some different builds and to be honest look at CP 160 and then look at 300 and later 561 builds.

increase elemental and magic damage, spell penetration, reduce cost of magicka skills/ magicka recovery
just read descriptions given and you're good to go
