Need NB build recommendation for casual solo/small group play

I got my nephew playing and we will group up on the days when he plays, but he also plays solo when I'm at work. Can anyone recommend a decent build for solo or small group play? He doesn't devote too much time to the game and I want to help him with survivability so he keeps playing.

Also, if anyone can recommend armor / weapon / jewelry combinations from overland sets. He doesn't like collecting - mostly killing - so no crafted sets.

At this point all sets require a decent amount of grinding or crafting. Unless he somehow has a boat load of gold he's going to have to do one or the other.

Need to know magicka or stamina. As the sets will vary depending.

He's probably going to go stamina, since that's what I'm mostly familiar with and I will be helping him.

I'll probably be helping (or doing the grinding myself) for the sets... especially during the event. I also have a fairly high level crafter.

For accessible crafted sets night mothers gaze + hundings rage can not be beat. After that you are spending some serious cash to get geared up. Myself, I run with 5 pc dreugh king slayer+ 5pc Night mothers gaze+ Slimecraw. My skill rotation is pretty straight forward with the back bone being:

Step #1 buff siphoning attack+relentless focus( recast this every 8 secs or so)
Step #2 apply d.o.t.s poison injection+endless hail. (recast every 8 secs with your buffs)
step #3 cast rearming trap + incapacitating strike
step #4 go into light attack weave with surprise attack or rapid strike. ( you should get in 4-6 strikes)

rinse, wash and repeat

That is the short and skinny of it all but be warned that to play the NB well takes time and practice to master.
