After I read this I was kicked out of the forum because "dns server could not be found"

Internet DNS services under DDOS attacks as posted here and here.

Temporary solution - use some generic DNS servers, for example servers from this list .

I switched to the two Google DNS servers early this morning to resolve my issue. Switching to Level3 DNS servers may not work at the moment, looks like they're under attack as well. Level3 is major provider for businesses and ISPs in the U.S.

Check to make sure there aren't issues with your DNS server, change it to google's for a bit and see if that helps, it's 8.8.8.8

Bigger Ddos than the one that hit Krebs. Taken out large profile sites of the East Coast. Allegedly bot net controller asking for 5BTC as ransom - and wants an additional 5 per day. Large percentage of the traffic is coming from IoT items, like your effing fridge and internet cameras

Allegedly, built on the code of Anna Senpai Virus Controller according to Krebs.

Me as well. Changed to OpenDNS and logged right in.

Woop, worked for me as well. Writing from my home network. Changed the dns lookup in my router configuration to OpenDns.

Don't go changing things just because of this. Google is not the problem. I use multiple DNS and all of them have had problems today.

Whilst the rest of the sites go back on line pretty much within an hour or so of the attack, it will probably take Sony 3 days to recover from this.

just to add to more links. Someone said they think it was because Trump dared Vladamir Putin to aquire Hilary clinton's deleted emails. That is just speculation though.
