It's so easy now! They have the duelist tag under their name! they just go around using some exploit build or one shot burst meta or macro to kill you before you even get a skill off. lol Now don't get me wrong I love dueling and think its great addition to the game I can test my builds on my friends and have little contest with ppl around same CP as me. But we have all seen it that player who runs around the town inviting everyone he see's and just one shots the second they accept lol as soon as I see this I run over and add to my ignore list. I thank you ZOS for giving me a clear way to spot and ignore trolls before they ever even get to me! XD

I get randomly duelled all the time and I'' clearly in endgame pve tanking gear. Some people just suffer from "small-certain-bodypart-syndrome".

Ever stopped to think that they might not be running that kind of build and just want to have some fun?

Personally I will invite randoms to duel if I'm waiting for a friend or unsure about what to do next.

I'm certainly not running one of those one shot builds, yet you'd stereotype me because of one social action in the game?

Tbh I've not really noticed it, I've seen a couple but then again when I'm not in the mood to fight I just turn off the duelling option.

Tbh I've not really noticed it, I've seen a couple but then again when I'm not in the mood to fight I just turn off the duelling option.

witch is why my list is not huge luckly eso is not filled with trolls but every now and then you see them and this makes it easy to notice them that is all i am saying

This guy in my faction generally plays a medium armor build in PVP with 2h/bow. When he goes to duel he sticks on his heavy armor with S+B (Tremor, Blackrose, Viper).
People have farmed these sets just to use in duels. They also use vitality pots and all kinds of crap. I wanted dueling to be fun, but against a lot of people it's just not because of this.

last night on PS4 eu I witnessed a lvl 6 with 'duelist' holding his own with CP50 player. The duel went on for 10+ minutes. The lvl 6 just wouldn't die.... either hes very well versed in the game or something wasn't right.

The BEST FIGHT I've seen were two dudes who took off all their equipment, weapons and skills and were just brawling each other

its the way scaling works now as long as he has lvl 6 gear of good sets its like he is max cp with max gear thats how scaling work for ya

so as long as he has skills and knows how to play he is all set

With the proc sets you need to invest nothing into damage at all and still have an easy time bursting people down with damage. So no.

I'm not even a pvper and this just seems like a lame way to justify poor sportsmanship. Also, if you don't want to duel people just turn off the notification.

I only duel friends and noobs to try teach them things, most of the time I'm holding back so they can try combo's etc. I ignore a lot of invites, I know a few people on EU server and I know who is gonna be wearing the Meta, it's not even worth my time.

I don't know about you guys but whenever I decide to go do some duels while waiting on my trial group to come together, I just switch some skills around, put a resto staff and go in with my PvE DPS gear... Okay yeah I do take off Infallible Aether for Willpower and I do switch Ilambris for Engine Guardian. I don't bother changing my mundus stones or taking off my TBS (Who said you can't use the Thief and the Shadow and still kick ***?).
Funny thing is when I kill someone real hard, first thing they say is "I have my vMA build" or "I'm in my PvE set-up". I laugh a little. A funny thing is when I'd kill someone who's a Duelist Khajiit NB with a sword and board running Tremorscale (and I'm guessing Viper and Black Rose, cause meta) he'd tell me he's in a PvE set-up. I sure everyone had these situations.
So yeah, I just wanted to say that skill>procs. And if I can win some of these duels against people who sit around in Rawl'kha and duel for the whole day with their broken set-up, means everyone can. Not saying I'm really skillful or anything, just proving a point. If I can win against broken set-ups without PvPing for the whole day, that means that everyone can.
Of course using a sub-optimal set-up on a magicka sorcerer in a duel isn't the best idea and there are some duels which are impossible to win, but at this point its not just the broken set-up. But yeah, no point in taking duelists seriously.

That actually sounds fun, fist fighting in the street like witcher 3 or the first fable.

Best duel I saw; A couple of guys were dueling at a boss location in eastmarch (like bandit queen boss kinda thing), one was a magplar, the other was a magsorc. It went on for like two hours, everytime someone would get to half heath they'd heal back up to full. Then the boss would spawn and they'd stop to help with the boss, but as soon a she was dead they'd be right back where they were. Nobody even won, eventually one of them said screw it and they just quit. Got some of it on vid though.

I've switched around my build so that I only roam around overland PVE in my dueling build.

Then again the only difference between my dueling build and my PVP build is rapid maneuvers and an extra shield.
