Honestly I find soloing normal group dungeons pretty good exp. Why? Because there's nobody there and there's lots of mobs. When you're done, port out, wait a few minutes and go back in, or go do another dungeon.
I made A LOT of cp when I was grinding CoA for Burning Spellweave. I've also made a lot grinding Automaton in Darkshade. When I get bored of that I might go do vMA. Basically I do things where people can't steal my exp.

Was this before or after the last incremental patch? They nerfed the monsters quite significantly where it's a cakewalk now. My grinder is a stam sorc, so I literally just run into a group of mobs, and as long as crit surge and hurricane is running, I won't die.
What class are you? CPs help a lot too. Are you at the cap?

Somewhere you can access two dolmens quickly. With the event I believe i got around 20 something K xp per dolmen. With the amount of people there are, it takes maybe 45 seconds to clear one dolmen? Maybe a minute. If you get 20k xp / 1 min that is 1200 Xp / hour, if you typically play 3-6 hours a day thats 3,600 - 7200 xp per play session.

Thats what id do if i were grinding for xp

PS. Crown xp scrolls work with the double xp. so theres that.

Edit: you wont get to each dolmen instantaniously, so factor in about 20-30 second travel time. so shave off about 200-400 xp from the maths per hour and that would maybe balance my maths. I cant math well lel. I was a sciency artsy type in high school/college.

MSA is pretty good, can fast travel there and once you nail the mechanics its pretty fast. 30-40min for Normal is v doable.

If you are pre Champion, do random dailies. Right now im moving 3 levels per complete. (scroll/witches brew)

Hi Alucardo i am a stam DK with about 400 CP with about 360 of them spent lol. Too busy skull farming to spend them. I tried COH solo as well the other night and BOOM dead at first mobs ha. Think maybe i will go back to Tanking

I've never actually tried CoH. Some dungeons are just insanely hard to solo farm, like ICP for example. Perhaps CoH is one of them

I'm going to make a wild guess that most ordinary players who ask about grindspots usually aren't at the CP cap, can't casually solo group content and quite possibly can't do vMA at all, let alone at the speed that would allow them to farm it. Especially if they're under lvl 50.

CoA I and Darkshade Caverns I are stupidly easy right now, so they are good places to start. They drop some decent loot, too. Blessed Crucible is another one that is easy to farm (I was after Sword dancer).
They're the only ones I've bothered with so far.

Everywhere else in Tamriel is littered with people farming, which means my exp was a lot lower in non-instanced places. You have to race from mob to mob just to try and get a hit in. So yeah, my exp gain was much higher in dungeons and Maelstrom Arena. Of course your mileage may vary if you grind at like 4am.

Actually atm it is. With the Holiday Event every single open world grind spot is overfarmed, including late in the night. And dungeons bring a lot of exp, assuming you actually kill stuff... Small trash packs bring from 6k to 10k xp depending on the presence of the polymorph, psijic ambrosias/scrolls and ESO +.

Farming open world spots isn't viable atm since, as soon as more than two people hit the same mob, group buff or no group buff, your XP will be cut in half.

improve your build, use all your CPs :)

but Crypt of Hearts is one of the "medium" difficulty dungeons, try Elden Hollow or Banished cells, should be easier

Otherwise, depending on your alliance, I've found Cyrodiil delves to be a good option. While Cracked Wood Cave is generally overfarmed even on empty campaigns, if you feel insecure about your chances of survival should other players decide to grind there too, go to Lipsand Tharn (the delve closest to the DC base. Killing vampires there brings good XP and helps with leveling your fighters guild.).

Otherwise, I've found that spots located in quest-mandatory areas are usually empty : Camlorn in Glenumbra. That's where I've farmed all my characters since the werewolves drop a lot of leather (aka dreugh wax potential). On AD side, the ruins of Mallari Mora in Auridon, just north of Skywatch. To get acces to it, you need to take the quest, follow it until you get inside the ruins, then go through the portal "to free the imprisoned adepts". Once you're through the portal, you will find yourself in the Spirit World, and instead of rescuing the adepts, which will port you back out, just go through the dungeon and kill every ghost in sight (when you're out of the portal, the dungeon will appear empty of enemies). Makes for a good grinding route.
On EP side, in Deeshan the most north-western city that has an outbreak of plague. Take the quest, follow it until you get access to the "quarantine" area. Then proceed there and grind the zombies/plagued lizards.
Same for Malabal Tor. The most Western city of the map that has Orc pirates all around it. Once you do the quest, the city will become devoid of enemies, so save it for later and grind the pirates.

Best luck I've had was in DSA. Two people, witchmother's brew, exp pot. It is instanced so no competition. Roughly an hour to complete if you're smashing through, otherwise just do the first level over and over. Boring, but that's grinding, no?

I was at Shinji's for a bit, but I ironically got far less. You end up fighting like children over mobs...

Farm the Dark Anchor dolmens, they come down like every 5 or 10 minutes or so, very fast. And everytime there is a boss monster, now I did 3 Anchors and all 3 bosses gave me plunder skull too. In every chest is jewelry, I have now my 2 necropotence rings and one jewelry  and some others too to sell

You only get full experience for open world mobs. Find a spot with fast spawning mobs that are close together, and AoE big pulls. Fastest way to level period.
