I actually like One Tamriel

I didn't think I was going to, but the few hours I've played so far have been pretty enjoyable. There's a few things I would like changed like the ridiculous skewing towards training and prosperous (come on guys, this is blatantly bad for your product), and a ban on dueling in certain hotspots (all bank tellers, and major town wayshrines).

But the good far outweighed the bad. Discovering new mechanics, having it take more than 3 seconds to solo world bosses, and generally speaking more to do! The mixing of factions has also brought a vibrancy to the major towns that was lacking. In short, Nirn is ALIVE, in a way no other Elder Scrolls game has been capable of making it.

Thank you to the creative and development team for making ESO feel lived in.

I only got about 90 minutes in but had a blast. I went to Rivenspire for the first time in, I dunno, a year, to grind some gear. Got to try and solo a world boss (very hard but doable if you're patient enough) and got a sweet piece of Necropotence breaches for my troubles.

Then I ported over to the Hammer-whatever Arena and did about 10 duels. Great times.

There is no skewing, it's just your personal perception of the RNG.

I didnt quite get it at first, I think the dawning that they were putting reasons to go to every Zone made it click for me - loving it.

I, too, am loving it. Not sure if it is the Witches Festival event as well, but the zones, dolmens, bosses etc feel more alive. And I love going to old zones and having them be viable once more. It makes the world not feel paper thin. Like things are actually happening instead of being there for us to storm through them, level up and never come back.

I started playing ESO five days ago...I did play during the beta and my first four days were the same during the beta. I was Very annoyed by the leveling I always had too many low level quest or too many high level quest or the quest I did have were spread out. Now come yesterday (xb1) I had a blast! Leveling in 100x better and for a new player that's a good thing.

These are the kind of comments that get priority for me.
This is what it was all about at the end of the day.

Would new players enter and want to get stuck in and have fun ?
Would new players walk in the front door and straight out the back door ?
Its difficult to gauge at the moment.

Yeah me too! First I was stoked, then I was sceptical and something towards "this is the end" for ESO.

But overall as you say the good outweights the bad.

First of all: mixed alliances! This was IMHO the right thing to do for PvE. A fresh breath of life to silver and gold zones that were empty. I really havent experienced any of this toxic behavior we all feared.

Second: pledges and dungeons! I started playing healer one week before TO - now I got two because of the amount of dungeons and pledges we do.

Third: new armor and gear! There are so much new. Much of this is just decon fodder but there are some really nice new sets and changes to certain old sets that didn't scale or was BoP etc. Eg. the sets in Orsinium - it is possible to get a proper set of Briarheart now. Or you can farm a proper scaled set of Fiord for a scroll carrier build.

Four: perfomance! I've only played PvE since the patch but overall it seems that the performance here have improved. I feared the opposite.

The list of good is longer but these are the key points that comes to mind. There is also a bad list but there are enough threads about this already.

Now pls RNGesus: give me more divines SPC pieces! That training sash and resto I got yesterday was a slap in the face!

I agree, 1T is legit. The very first thing I did was start a new character, and I could kill virtually anything I wanted to in any zone (aside from WB) without any help. Playing glenumbra again with a cp170 was fun, it brought new life to place. I sat around near Daggerfall and helped a bunch of guys farm the WB lurcher. Even had a duel, thought I was gonna lose, but the guy barely got my health down (he was squirrelly though).

I was surprised with the update, I'm a CP460 Magknight dps, and I was worried about content being overly difficult or something. My toon was parked in Rkindaleft, and I wasn't sure what I'd be greeted with... well, it turns out I was handling mobs pretty well just as I had been before (white training gear btw), enemies were slightly beefed up more, but not by much. So I'm still happy. And I like running around with other alliance members *malekhajiitdance*

I am loving One Tamriel too! Not only is it awesome for bringing more people together and making the world seem less empty, its perfect for playing with friends and guildies! Not to mention the new pledges bring you all over the world now! I completed all zones back when Cadwells Silver and Gold were a thing, completed all quests available, all skyshards collected. Now I get a reason to go back to these beautiful lands :)
My guild had its first One Tam meetup event on Saturday, and it was great! Will link it here if anyone is interested in seeing a whole pack of crazy wolves :D

It just goes to show how much fun this can be. One Tamriel is the best update I've seen since I started playing. Had been looking forward to it for so long, and it has not disappointed! :)

I like the changes to how dungeons work. I think it's great that players who cannot do the veteran dungeons will still get a key for their chance at shoulders.

I would like to see shoulders from chests have the ability to be traded to party members but it could easily be exploited so not sure how to incorporate.

i love this update. it solves so many problems and opens so many possibilities.

For me, i have lotsa to-do things for each character and only drawback of playing one is not playing the other. been a while since i was this frenetic. happy happy joy joy.

For me, its great to see so many folks playing almost everywhere. there are still plenty of places where you can go and have some mostly undisturbed time but hey every city is buzzing, every dolmen and many world bosses are jumpin'... great time.

For me, its really really good to be able to take characters "home" to their original zones and get useful fun play out of it. i really like that no area is useless.

For me, i really love the rate at which mats are flowing, as much from drops that get deconned as anything else, but also tons of mats easy harvest always useful. Three characters in the developing levels are doing great and the others at capper are also busy little bees. my poor equip crafter is sore from all the deconning. i also like how many formerly BOP sets went BOE from their overland sources and chests.

For me, i love many of these new sets and the harvests for them are fun. it basicaly got me to playing dolmens more than i ever have.

Now, not everything is complete yet::
i believe they need to finish their "gear overhaul" that startsed with the massive changes to drop sets, drop scaling and node scaling in 1T by similar upticks to equip crafting so that it remains a vital piece of the play showing the massive skills and time to be worthwhile. This should include adding jewel crafting (cuz now most all drop sets have jewels easily acquired), ability to scale up the level of crafted gear while keeping quality (cuz as you level each new drop piece is automatically scaled) and removing the lower cap from mat-levels (cuz now that the nodes scale you do need more room for use of mats at lower levels.)

So great change and massive progress but not quite done yet.

Yep. Actually getting to try this today and loving it. Had to skip so many quests and slogging through silver(im over 200 cp) now I get gear my level and full exp. Granted I did go back and try a world boss(dugan the red) and got my rear handed to me just now but that's better than facerolling through it all. Now to go back in and see Mr. Red again....muwahahaha

Me too! I frankly gave up on this game a year ago. There is so much to do now, barriers to leveling eliminated, too many good things to mention. I called in sick yesterday to respec my DK, lol. Trying to find a way to leave early today!. Great job, Bethesda.

The scaled zones and borderless (as it were) zones are what many players having been dreaming of since the start. I only ever wanted to explore all of Tamriel. I can do that now. I don't have to worry about empty zones with mobs I kill just by looking at them. Proc sets and the state of PVP aside, this is a very positive step. I just want to boost the positive thread since it is easy to mention the negative things. *cough* PVP *cough* sorry, something in my throat.

The game is more exciting but less interesting to me. The stories make no sense if you do them out of order, and Dolmens are about as bad as Cyrodiil at the moment.

I don't consider this a good trade, but I certainly see why people would.

I'm liking the new sets. Ive been farming Rattlecage with a few friends. I don't have perfect traits... Yet... But my Magicka Pariah Heal-Tank has never been stronger. My character was lacking in damage (1.3K spell damage, ouch!) but Rattlecage has nearly doubled that and I don't have to sacrifice a slot for entropy. Still super tanky, still a great healer and now I have some acceptable damage. I can't wait to see what my build can do when he's finished and in all gold gear.

I'm also loving how normal mode maelstrom arena gives champion 160 gear now (purple jewelry still exclusive to veteran mode.) That makes those sets much more accessible!

Totally enjoying 1T. Once you get over the lag and, sometimes, the fustration of not finding a single WB or Dolmen or Delve Boss to get a hit on for those sets, it's quite fun!
I can finally start questing again. I can invite anyone from my guild, without having to worry about alliances.
And the town are no longer dead.
Perhaps, after the hype is down, the amount of people online willl eventually drop, maybe making it take longer to find a group to run your fav dungeon for your fab set. But here's me hoping for the best.

Also like that WB take at least 2 people to take down (aside from a couple of bosses that can still be soloed with patience).

I'm really enjoying it too and the timing is great with the Witches Festival. I'm finding the world boss difficultly awesome. I'm in areas where it's taking 10 - 15 players about a minute or two to kill a boss. It's fun actually putting more than just one hit on them. I also enjoy talking to the other folks while we wait for respawns. It's much better than the empty world we had just a few days ago.

One Tamriel is pretty amazing in my eyes. Reasons.

    A. Game feels alive for the first time since I've played it (1month after console release). Towns are full, everyone is out in the zones collecting gear, everyone is dueling everyone else and there's tons of activity in the chats.

    B. Gear Chocies; for the first time I feel like I have a couple viable options for DPSing as a Magic & Stam build. I also feel like I have choices to do fun AIDS PVP builds. Obviously there's BiS for everything -- but old sets aren't completely obsolete and the new sets are actually worth getting. They're also easy to get which means you spend more time with your new gear and less time beating your head against a wall grinding for it.

    C. Time to kill is immensely high. No one really likes being gapclosed and insta-chunked by 15k worth of procs + the gapclose -- however this makes 1vXing easier and speeds up XvX fights in general. When the time to kill was lower, fights took longer, numbers mattered more, and a Magplars BoL was the best ability in ESO. I'll be the first to say the proc sets need nerfing -- but right now the game is in such a place where at least ball groups have a harder time being -- you know -- a ball group.
