So with all the chatting that is going on, how do I know when someone is asking me something? Will they be saying my name? Also if I want to say something to them, how do I do it? Just say @whoever blah blah blah or is there a different way of doing it?
One more question. Last time I played something like this with MechWarrior 2, I would be chatting with someone and just shooting the crap. Like Hi, how are you, and stuff like that. Do people do that now or would the be frowned apon now in this day and age?

There is some chit chat in zone chat, but really, more of it happens in Guild chat. Most of the guilds I am in people have conversations about stuff not game related along with game stuff. If your on the NA PC server, send me an email in game to @Nestor and I can get you in some guilds that will be enjoyable to you. No pressures, just folks who play the game together, or apart as the case may be.
When you're in-game and go to your mail (on PC unless you've changed the keybinds it's either the " , " key or the " ' " key - I can never remember which of those opens mail and which one opens the crown store) just type in @Nestor in the recipient field and it will get to him.So with all the chatting that is going on, how do I know when someone is asking me something? I can do that? How will I send you an email? Just use Nestor? no @something.com?

When I join a group, or when I invite someone to join, I always greet the group or new member with a "Hiya." It just seems the polite thing to do. In real life if you walk into the workplace you greet your coworkers, so this is no different for me.
I generally invite the members of the group to become friends. This has two benefits:
1. You can look at your list and know who you've played with previously
2. When you want to create a group, or expand a group, you have a large list of people to invite
Not all of your friends will be online at once, so the larger your list, the more people you have access to.
Eventually, you will reach a point where the only content left is group related unless you start a new character at lvl 1.
If someone in a group pulls off a cool move, I always compliment them. Or if they have a cool costume, I will compliment them on that.
This is a social gaming experience. If you don't treat it as such you miss out on half of the fun.

Thanks for the comment. Someone added me to a group. I never herd nothing from. I didn't have the chat box on, I had it minimized. How do I know if someone is trying to say something to me? A lot of times it goes so fast and if I take the time to read it, I am not paying attention to what is happening around me then.
How do I know if someone is chatting with me through the box, or when you say you go up and say "Hiya" do you do it in public chat? Reason I ask is I am not sure if anyone has approached me or not since I never see anything pop up and had the chat window (Is that what you call the box on the lower left where people talk in public) since it was so distracting and nothing applied to me.

I will try that out Cass Nation. Can I move the chat box to the right or in a different position? I like to see how much experience points I get for my kills so minimized it. I will try the bubble chat and see how it works for me.
Thanks for the tips greatly appreciated.
