We Need To Have A Talk...(@Everyone @ZOS)

Hello, Just a heads up this isn't a post about what needs to be fixed in game. that would need a whole thread to its self. This thread is to breath life back into the game's community. Yes OneTam came out but hear me out, Also Don't judge by grammar I know its trash. *severe dyslexia*

Intro
Ive been playing Elder Scrolls Online from all the way back in the beta, my CP level might not say It but I have a monkey to prove it ;) . Ive seen this game from its P2P aspect in the start where updates were often and full of newish content, to now with its B2P which focus's more on outfits and large content at once. I indeed took breaks here and there like most people who started in the P2P day's because lets be honest here, some of the updates just made the game really hard to play. I enjoy all elder scrolls game's and just want to put my input after a long time of "disapproving" on the forums.

The thing that really bother's me for the whole time of this game's life is the ever slow but truth that the game needs a re awaking. Now "One Tam" is a great start! it should of been in the game from the start but plan's change as we all know. like all MMO'S we need something that sustains the game as a whole that needs to be enjoyable by the players and profitable to the developers. Not one sided to one or the other. We Need to Have a Talk about the true issue.

Short Version
ZOS should really look at its fellow Mmo's and see how there style of building and keep the game going it should always focus on the Not that the customer is always right. but more in the "we need to listen to them more often". I am pretty sure in the eyes of this company they want to keep the game going as long as possible to get the greatest return in profits. But in that regard have to appeal to old and new players and keep everyone happy. If you don't, you get all this bickering on the forums and toxic one sided community and disheartened fan's. We as fan's and Dev's need to act appropriately to the actions we all want this game to live for 10+years But that wont happen at current state, Of the Community and Sometimes it feels if we are playing a different game to what ZOS is talking about or making content on.

Longer more in depth version down below.
What Players Can Do To Help ZOS

We all play this game to enjoy it and have fun and distract us. What we can do for ZOS is to act the rating on the box, and that is M 18 years and older. There No need for childish behavior of who is bullying who and what not and yes they have not control on if children play the game but In general acting like adults to a company really helps them as most of us can agree with your real life jobs, Demanding things from a company will get you no where. In general we need to act more of a community of a video game and less of that one angry person in the super market.

What ZOS Can Do To Help Players

Hey ZOS and its employee's, Hows it going. I know, I know, I might sound hypocritical with a few warnings on my account? doesn't matter. This Is for you to make everyone's life better including yes, you and the company you are in. The key point in the semi paragraph above was to Point out as players what we can do for you, and Im going to borrow one of those pointers. First one is to act as an adult's in most situations. ZOS, in general have to stop going on ESO live or forum post and doge question's. its not healthy as a company, and not healthy for your PR team either, if they get blasted because someone said "Soon" or "No ETA" Those phrase's are dangerous.

Be more open about things. Like that time when you said you didn't know what was causing lag in PVP and told people to spread out. Being open as a company comes with benefits it calms the forums down because people know what is going on. Listen to your community! this is one I can not stress enough if you need inspiration on who listen to its community. look at runescape I know its a Browser base MMO but look how long its been going since 1999 and still going strong. Im not saying you should go F2P Just listen to your streamers, players, PTS players, feedback from tickets.

What Both Party's Can Do To Help This MMO

We both need to own up to our mistakes; Players, have some things that are game breaking and we don't report it because we feel as if nothing is ever done. ZOS, makes the mistake and "thinks" something needs to be fixed on situations and some times it was working perfect and they breaks it. We need to come to a compromise of both party's, Sometimes it feels if we are playing a different game to what ZOS is talking about or making content on.

I disagree with almost everything you stated. I believe ZOS should not look into and mirror what other MMO's are doing, as off the top of my head, I can't name a single one that I feel is "doing it better" or even "doing it right." ESO is not perfect by any means, but I've also been here since beta. I like the direction they're currently heading and believe it is one that will ensure success and longevity going forward.

I gotta be honest here...all the decisions they have been making isn't going to please customers long-term. It almost seems like they know that and are trying to make as much money as possible before they shut down or go F2P. That would mean catering to what their customers actually want isn't high on their "to-do" list  Just my opinion!

You mean catering to what you want. I'd be curious to know what you believe should be done different as from my perspective, people are coming back in droves and sticking around due to changes they believed catered to their specific desires and playstyles.

Correct. And I feel they are doing just that. At no point in your op did you present any meaningfull evidence to the contrary. The few bits you provided held no merit whatsoever, especially the suggestion they should look to other MMO's for inspiration. What mmos? I've played nearly all of them currently on the market and can't think of one I'd like eso to mimick in any major aspect. Trivial things like a transmog system perhaps. But nothing earth shattering.

This will never last 10 years on console without additional disc releases. Games simply don't last that long there. Maybe us console players are a little ADD but it's been a little over a year for me and this is the longest game I've consistently played on console. Bungie had a 10 year plan too for Destiny and they lost the majority of their fan base after almost a year. BTW they lost those fans because they listened to their fans and all of the forum complaining. They nerfed the world and people left. In the end balance = boredom and everyone being the same.

Whenever I log in there are plenty of happy players about, both old and new. It's just the standard complainers on the forum who are unhappy, the players in the game are enjoying themselves.

No game has ever appealed to everyone, and there is no norm with which all games must comply. If this game doesn't appeal to certain players - for whatever reason - they should simply accept that and move on (or rather, I suspect, back) to one that does appeal to them.

Not really sure what the OP is actually complaining about here. ESO is in a better state than it ever has been. It's very clear to me they are looking to put a lot more into the game. Tamriel One was very much an update towards this games long term health.

Zos does listen. Often way to much. Granted, I understand the idea some may have that since they didn't accept my proposed changes they must not be listening, but it doesn't make it fact.

I have no idea what the complaint here is.

They are under no obligation to run the company the way you think they should. Or the way anyone thinks they should. If they are not getting paid the big bucks to make the decisions, it is not going to matter one little bit. Sure, they might agree with some ideas here and there and make them happen. But they are not obligated to do as we ask on any topic of your choosing.

If I had my way proven cheaters would not have received a final chance. No one would be told that the customer service staff was too busy to help them. Armor would fit correctly always on both females and males. The shoulder and hip flappies would be looked at until they stopped being weird. Crown crates would not be released. But like I said, my opinion on those topics matters very little. So I stopped investing myself in them. Do whatever, I'll play the game until the game itself stops being fun for me. And that is the best advice I have for anyone, if the game itself stops being fun, then its time to move on.

If you want them to listen to other MMO's then they are doing exactly what they should be doing. Blizzard is straight up ignoring the players and have been since the dawn of WoW's creation. They make a game they want you to play, not a game you want to play. They have a vision and if you don't like it, then don't play it. They still make money either way. Many ideas that players have are just not possible. You think this one idea would be perfect but in reality it would hurt a huge part of the player base.

ZOS is probably doing what Blizzard used to do. They have a group of beta testers/chosen players they go to for in game input while none of the game designers actually play the game they are making(I don't know this to be fact but I'm assuming from years of playing MMOS). Those "chosen" players most likely do PVP and not much else. Like blizzard for years, they tried their hardest to balance the game around their 3v3 arenas because of tournaments. They failed the PVE community horribly for years because of this. They ruined peoples favorite classes/specs to make Arena more balanced, we even lost out on PVE content because of deadlines and the 3v3 arena crap was priority. Thus the saying "We'll lose a raid tier" was born.

Blizzard just released a new expansion about a month ago called Legion where they completely separated PVP and PVE. There is no more "PVP" gear or stats, all gear is the same. They separated PVE/PVP talents. Now there are talents that only work in PVP. So that PVE players can be left alone during balancing. If anything that would be something that ZOS should listen too and try to implement because it makes a lot of people happy.

(None of what I said I claim to be fact, it's just my personal opinion and my two cents into the conversation.)

Today is a blessing. Yesterday is in the past and tomorrow is a mystery.

I always enjoy a good, "did you know that this evil company wants to turn a profit" post. In other news please take 5 minutes to review the forum for NBA2K17. You'll find ESO's forum to be quite warm by comparison. Then go to EVERY OTHER VIDEO GAME MESSAGE BOARD and you'll find more of the same. This might actually be the most well run gaming forum around.

Yeah. I went back and looked at his old posts. Lots of criticizing, not much helpful suggesting. Keep in mind that very few if any people tell the truth about what got them banned.

There are many posters who have stated why they are unhappy with x in the games, don't like game mechanic x, or that they think x game mechanic sucks and give alternatives/other ideas about how it could be improved. If you can state what the issue is, why you believe it doesn't work, and how you think it might be improved without resorting to name-calling, condescending sniping, and other pleasant not-contributing to the discussion tactics, there is no reason why you would be suspended or banned.

Have you gone to the pts forum and added your suggestions/comments to the appropriate threads there? Official types read those threads. Have you done /feedback in game and submitted your comments there? What about the support forum? Of course those methods lack the drama of making a general forum post with @EVERYONE, but teh drama...some need it.
