These are totally gonna be the cat's mrowl after the event ends, I wouldn't be surprised if prices skyrocketed immediately after. Then again, maybe there'll be no demand once the event is over. Who knows! Investment is hard.

Honestly, I've been trading them away for some Amber Marble.

I've received close to six Mask Rune boxes since I got both of them, and I just want to make sure I've got plenty of the Style Mat for once the Festival ends.

So I've just been trading them for the Marble.

Which as a side effect has been royally pissing off people trying to sell them for 100k-200k. Muahahahaha!

I had thought of that, but due to my mercantile ways before the Festival, I'm sitting on a bit over 7mil in my bank.

So I think I'll be Ok.

Why is the community so greedy lately? I mean compensation is reasonable, but this is ridiculous. Ridiculous enough for me to start giving motifs, masks and Vamp Bites away for free to break the market a little. It makes me a little sick thinking the community has gotten this stingy in a matter of a few months.

People will be people. Considering how people treat each other elsewhere in this game (and outside of this game, for that matter), it's really no surprise. Just another case of yout typical h0mo homini lupus*.

When the witches festival started and I saw pumpkins and guts for sale at every guild store for 999 gold each, I just shook my head and said "of course". The most baffling thing isn't that people try to exploit others and leech gold out of them, the baffling thing is that many are actually buying pumpkins for 999 gold each (when they're sold at the NPC next door for like 20 gold). And buying new motif chapters for 200-300k per page. You just have to look at your MM charts to see that.
But then again, I suppose some people have exploited this game so massively in the past, by botting, by insta-spawning easy-to-kill mobs, by bugs and glitches and what not, that they just have so much money now that they couldn't really give a damn.

*And wow on ZOS for actually censoring the word h0mo. I mean, it used to mean 'human' in good old latin, but now I guess it's nothing but a swear word that needs to be weeded out by your crappy autocensor system. Just like the 'd0ng' in the quote from 'The Wizard of Oz' that goes: "Ding, d0ng, the witch is dead". Crappy autocensor will be crappy autocensor.

Hahaha! Yes. My friend saw people advertising pumkins for 1000g in zone so he started advertising "Pumpkins for Free!" and just mailing a pumkin to anyone who whispered him. :-)

I had two Scarecrow Masks...Figured Id either sell it or trade it for the Pumpkin mask. Ended up trading it and getting a decent guild invite out of it.

If I get any more, which I havent yet I'll probably sell them for top dollar but I suspect that theyll drop in price as the event goes on. Only for them to spike again once its over and whomever didnt get them are still looking to get them.

I think a year from now, you might find someone to buy it for a decent amount. It is quite the long game I would think. My guess is following the patch, there will be a steady supply of them available for quite some time. The really arent that rare and this event coincided with a lot of grinding that is going on right now. It's just the first week and I already have extras of everything.

My plan is to save any masks that drop, and 2-3 each of the gold recipe and the purple one that gives you Health, magic, magic regen. They are the only ones I see as potentially useful. Otherwise, it's all vendor trash at this point. We have enough inventory issues as it is without 150 plunder skulls on every toon. Haha.

Someone will just take your free motifs and sell them. It isn't greed this is the way the market works, refusing to participate puts you at a disadvantage. If I catch any deals on the masks I will buy them up to resell at a higher price later, planning the same for the hollow jack and the style mat for it. I bought about 1k planar scraps when I heard the change about those coming. Sometimes it is a gamble and you can lose your shirt but when you guess right you make out like a bandit. It is nice when I need to try a new build I can just go out and buy all the mats (including gold mats) because I have a million or more.

I know that I don't have to stop at 100, I'll just have the achievement done and was hoping for that to be the end of it. I'll keep grinding for the pumpkin mask, but would like to get back to other things.

I've been a longtime advocate of giving things like werewolf bites for free and selling sought after items on a considerably cheaper price, because why be greedy, it's a game at the end of the day. My biggest shortcoming is that I often can't consistently sell as I'm very much a part time player and seldom can fit into the high cost and demand of most guilds, and the ideal one I was in just more or less shut down.
Still, it doesn't hurt to give things for free or on the cheap at times to remind people that it's supposed to be fun.
