Greetings :-)

Isnt there no way to speed up our mailsystem?
Everytime I buy or sell things I must relog to get the mail in. Or port to another region helps also sometimes.
I have been in many other MMOs, but there the mail worked immediately.

Seems stupid that I have to wait but get the mail immediately as soon as I leave the zone for another.

Also entering a Thieves Refuge will prompt your mail to arrive every time :)

Ya it's super annoying. Although sometimes I get a "freebie" where it comes through instantly (I still have to actively go in to the mail section though, it's not an instant notification), but that usually only works on the first time I check for my purchases. Anything after that I have to relog or zone. Really hinders the shopping experience lol.

A refresh button for ingame mail would be nice. But please no instant notification, that would really be super annoying with the hundreds of RTS mails.

Agreed. It has been this way for years. At this point, it is more likely they will decide not to do Crown Crates than change this.

If I had to guess I'd say this happens to not have a routine running indefinitely in background to constantly check for new mail.

This IS a good thing because if coincidentally you get a new mail when fighting you may get a, subtle or not, FPS drop or increase in latency which may end up in you dyeing.

However, as noticed by many, logging off an back in or porting to another region makes the mail comes instantly.

As a developer I can see clearly that, apparently (who knows...), the code used to trigger the mailbox check is invoked in the "beginning" of the code executed while on loading screens, be it of a fresh new login or one for zone changing.

Well... Why not add the same code, that usually is just one line, in the action triggers of stores (buy and cancel) and, periodically, let's say once per hour, for all players outside combat (because to take that long to disengage combat, players' statuses must being logged as well).

That way, if you're buy something you'll get it right away because the buying action will trigger the mail check. In the other end, if someone buy something from you, before notifying, the game will check your status, as recipient, status and only proceed if out of combat.

And this is not the only scenario this can be applied. Guild MOTDs, for example, also requires a database check which may cause lag issues if ran out of nowhere.

If you, ZOS, still think this is too unimportant faced everything else you have scheduled (which nobody else, publicly, can tell) then just add this functionality to the API (if not there yet), that, theoretically, should also be easy and quick, and let the community do the job like they did for hundreds if small improvements.
