If they had just said rare dye colors, they couldn't invent exclusives. And I'm okay with dye exclusives, but not exclusive stamps. I'd buy the dye, but never being able to pair it anything other than Thalmor ruins it for me. Thalmor is nice, but a deep blue or purple or even Coldharbour Ash would be preferable.

Also, making the least-represented color so far an exclusive within a season is kind of stingy.

Yep. I would gladly spend some crowns to purchase the dye in store. I love it that much. And the only other shiny orange is really hard to get. I will not be spending any money on a single use dye stamp.

I am very disappointed that this is a crown store exclusive especially because it is a very nice looking orange dye. I love the way it looks on the new masks so I might just have to buy stamps for my masks. Sadly I don't have the pumpkin specter mask yest but I bet it will look very cool on that.

They might be testing the waters to see if it's worth dev time to make an extremely expensive, one-time-use dye that can only be used on costumes. Kind of like how they were testing the waters with the gambling boxes on the PTS. Hopefully they're finding angry barracuda and no whales.

I broke down and went against my own rule of never buying dye stamps since I have ESO plus. This will be the only time I ever buy one and the only reason I bought it was because it looked really good on my Pumpkin Mask. I do not regret it but I am disappointed that I had to make a purchase like that instead of earning the dye to use on whatever I want. Please ZOS do not continue this trend. I have supported you since beta and will continue supporting you even if I do not agree with some of your decisions. I am indifferent toward crown crates and don't mind the occasional crown motif but there is no reason to make a dye a crown store exclusive through dye stamps. I personally love collecting dyes, costumes, hats, mounts, etc. Pretty much any cosmetic that is earned in game through achievements are things that I love to obtain. I have no issue purchasing some of these things in the crown store either as I own a ton of different mounts and costumes. I would be okay with it if the dye was a one time purchase in the store and you unlock it forever but don't make me buy the dye every time I want to use it on a costume. Sorry to go a bit off topic but I am starting to worry about their future decisions on things. I personally just want a less crown store cosmetics and more cosmetics you earn through achievements or loot drops.

You have a point. I am just hoping that they don't start going crazy with selling every cosmetic in the crown store and stop giving us achievement based cosmetics.

I like to check the stamps regularly, and screenshot them, so I have a trace of the "official names" of the color associations, just in case it would shed some light on the lore, for example by indicating color patterns favored by some factions to define their "visual identity". But when I discovered that orange dye, I was really pissed.

I am quite annoyed by the idea of a dye exclusive to Crown Store stamps as it doesn't let us to use it in any combination we'd see fit, only in those available as dye stamps (which are single-use and single-character).

Does someone know whether the dye is available in-game somehow? Or does ZOS plan to make it available some time in the future? During the next Witches Festival, maybe?

I actually would pay for this dye, I think, if I was able to then use it in any combination I would see desirable on an account-wide basis. But dye stamps would only clutter my bank account and I would never dare to use them as I would fear that they'd look better on some yet unreleased costume, at a moment where I wouldn't have them anymore.

Until now, unlocking dyes was a way to look great that felt earned because you had to achieve something in-game to get the dyes. This is no longer the case.
Also, the game is not pay-to-win in the sense that one can only get the best-performing gear by playing, you can't get it by paying - and it is as it should be. But the best-looking stuff, you can't get it by playing. You must pay. There is no coherence in that. This is not as it should be, and it has really started annoying me. I don't mind paying for new content, even cosmetics (and you can check that I even pay a lot for it), but with Crown-exclusive motifs and even Crown-exclusive dyes, this is now out of control.

I wanted to play an Elder Scrolls game. And ZOS is doing significant effort to make it closer to what one would expect of such a game. It is not yet done, but there have been massive improvements since launch, especially with Orsinium, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. Those efforts don't go unnoticed. But what you're doing with monetization, this is ruining the immersion by locking customization options behind paywalls.

When I open my mouth (or use my fingers) to say anything about P2W I'm crucified.

The cosmetic side of the game IS something running in parallel to the fighting aspect and such things, directly or not, makes this aspwct P2W.
