So, the idea would involve a new tab on the weapon/armour crafting menus: "Replicate". Under the replicate tab, you would be able to take any dropped set item in the game and re-create it (destroying the original item in the process) in any style you know, in any trait you know. So, for example, if I am awarded Velidreth shoulders, heavy, prosperous, and have 9 triats in heavy shoulders, I would be able to replicate this item in divines, altmer if I wanted. The cost of replicating would be the same as ordinary crafting, so it would cost 130-odd rubedite ingots, a sapphire and a style material to make.
Being able to replicate set items in this way would allow crafters the ability to utilise their hard-earned motifs, as opposed to being stuck with the style in which certain sets drop, and would circumvent the training/prosperous scourge, provided players had taken the time to do their crafting research which, in the current climate of dropped sets, is growing less and less important by the day.
