Legendary item failure

On Sunday, I made several Julianos items and had enough wax to make all of them gold. Only one of the attempts failed, even though I used 8 wax. Since wax tends to run 56k for 8 pieces, I'm hesitant to try again on the same piece of Julianos (boots) that failed.

I have reset my UI, and I always shut down my game and PS4 each night when I'm finished in Cyrodiil.

Should I make new boots? Or try again with the same pair?

If it actually failed... you would no longer have the same pair of boots anymore.. because on failure it would destroy the boots.

No. If I'd used less than 8 wax, and it failed, then, yes, the boots would have been destroyed.

I used 8 wax to ensure success. The process simply failed.

It worked on all of the other items, just not the boots.

Yeah, that's my problem, and why I'm asking the question. The 8 wax were actually used - happy sound and everything - when I tried to make the boots. But the item didn't convert. I got the happy sound on all the other items, as well, and they all changed.

I'm out 8 wax. While I'm not going to complain about that 56k gone in a puff of happy noise and no smoke, I'm worried about my next attempt.

Definitely send in a Help Ticket on this, they can go over the logs and see what happened. Hopefully they will replace your Gold Tempers.

Where are you finding 8 wax for 56k?
The current price in Wayrest is 9k for 1 wax..

You have to visit more than one guild store. I primarily shop Craiglorn and Glenumbra, but I also hit the guild stores in the Big Tree, Wayrest and other spots. I'm always on the lookout for wax at $7k or lower, and grab it whenever I can ... even if I don't need it.

Just check that you don't have the item in your junk tab of your inventory, I have done this before where somehow I must have miss clicked and marked as junk then later on I upgraded it and the item disappeared. Took me a while to find it but it was there. Hope you find your boots mate.

Found it in Craiglorn last night for $7k and $7,500.
