Crit damage?

RyuHyabusa427
With all the impen running around is it still worth it to stack crit chance and does crit damage do more damage than normal hits vs impen stacking?

If people stack crit resist to max which is 3300 they have a 50% crit dmg reduction. Most people aren't even close to this.

Every class has a base 50% increased crit dmg, templar/nb's have 10% more.

So if you include cp you'll always hit harder on a crit, most people who actually use impen have around 2-2.5k crit resist which is around 30-38% reduction.

So if you put like 10% into crit dmg then sorc/dk's will hit around 22-30% harder while templars/nb's will hit 22-40% harder.

And thats just with 10%, it's easy to get 15%. Not including any other buff's either, shadow, minor force etc..
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Here's the spreadsheet @Crown created to help us visualize how impen performs:

Remember, while impen affects the extra dmg modifier, you can still get a lot of crit for your heals.

There's another 12% (if I recall correctly) from one of the new sets that I need to add to that spread sheet. It's on my list of things to do along with updates to the rest of the darkelves.com guides.

Crits also buff your critical healing, and there is no counter to that, so is always worth invest something on there. Just make sure to have a decent baseline damage, don't rely 100% on crit builds like ppl do on PvE.

Armor of the Construct set is the one you're thinking of, though that name might be obsolete. I think it's probably the Armor of the True heavy set from Darkshade Caverns but I'm just guessing here.

EDIT: Seems that it is actually Hatchling's Shell but the effect is not longer crit protection. Oh well.

He's talking about the Medusa set.
I just got the full 5pc and tried it out in pvp last night. For open world, it works for me lol.

    This^.
Crit can be great, but full reliance only works in pve since your enemy doesn't have a shield or full impen.

At a certain point, stacking crit damage is much more effective then stacking weapon damage - especially if you're wearing medium armor and have decent crit (which you probably do if you're running medium armor). I was running 5 hundings, 3 (or 4 w/ my DW) Leki's, 3 Agility and the warrior stone and had like 4.5k weapon damage w/ surge.

Now, running the shadow w/ only 4.1k weapon damage, I've noticed a pretty significant increase in my damage.
