Fastest way to level since the last update?

Me and my friend are trying to get into the game since Veteran ranks are gone but we are struggling with how slow leveling up is. I actually got a level 50 a couple years ago when the game was new but I don't remember it taking quite as long. We are on EP and just doing the leveling zones, currently in Stonefalls at about level 10 and it's going slow. We're doing all quests including sidequests which I looked up to make sure we do them all, all delves, and discovering lore books and all skyshards we find but it feels tedious. I enjoy the story and all but quests are so long and many only give 5-10% of a level. I tried looking up how to level fast but people recommend grinding with exp enhancing items from the crown store but someone told me the latest update makes it slower to grind. If that's true, what are we supposed to do so we can get to level 50?

We are thinking of trying the first dungeon but that's only good for a few levels probably. Someone please give us some advice.
Thanks

Only if your on console. Otherwise, overland is where it is at for grinding.

OP, there is PvP for less than L50 players, if that is your goal. It does not allow Champ Points so you are on a level playing field to an extent.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

First, slot some training traits on your gear. All should be ideal, since it adds experience gained per kill. You could go into dungeons but I wouldn't do anything past normal pledges.

Second, doing the mage quest and fighters quest lines used to give you lots of exp. I'm not sure if that's the case now, but following the main quest through the zones while killing gives you decent exp to help you get to lvl 50.

Okay follow my steps my friend.
    1. Make 7 pieces of Training Armor at Lvl 10. Use that armor for the whole leveling process. Make a set of the following:
    * Hundings Rage, Night Mothers for MEDIUM ARMOR, Seducer/Magnus for Light Armor.
Then make your weapons in Training too. UPGRADE TO PURPLE! ELEGANT LININGS ARE EASY TO COME BY.
    2. Level up to 10 normally. Just grind.
    3. Head to Cracked wood Cave in the mornings!!!! from 7am -11am its pretty dead.
    4. Sell all your drops. Use that gold to buy Psijic Ambrosias from the Traders.

The fastest way to level is to do skills quests
    Daily dungeons
    Public dungeons in Cyrodil

Mix and match but I'd suggest not to grind because what good is it being high in CP but having to go back and farm materials, gold, shares and skill points

Just play to enjoy the game and try to see all that it offers
